The LEDs on the front of the base make checking battery status easy. The cup removes from the base easily. Previously, I used a Ninja blender, but the battery failed in less than a year and it was an awkward blender. Awkward for a few reasons: No way to check the battery status, so the blend would just stop working. The base always had to be attached. I love this little blender. I was able to make a smoothie in my car on my lunch break!! It’s not the strongest, but it was able to get the job done with a few shakes and stirs. I’m disappointed in this product. I was hoping for a on the go product to replace my larger blender in the morning. The battery life or charge to this product is awful, as it died several times and struggled to blend, during the course of making a smoothie. I thought I would give it a try, but this blender does not perform well. I will be switching over to the ninja brand to determine if I get better results. Love this portable blender! It is easy to use and lightweight. My only regret is that I did not get it sooner. Perfect for a road trip trips or the office. It takes up minimal space and is somewhat quiet compared to other blenders.
