Volumetric: The Musica is a volumetric espresso machine, allowing the operator to program up to three independent dosages. Once programmed the three independent dosages can be easily selected via the back- lit soft-touch buttons, found on the front of the machine. All of which can be dimmed and brightened to fit-in at any setting. Pour Over VS Direct Connect This machine comes in two different setups. One with a water take reservoir for ease of use (pour over) and another that can connect directly to a water source (direct connect), eliminating the need to refill the tank in the back.

This is my 2nd Musica. I bought it when my 15 year old machine needed a repair, so I will have a backup. I believe it's the best home espresso machine that money can buy. It produces great espresso, and the frothing is top notch. If you are an espresso drink fan, you won't be sorry you bought one of these! Just note the height. It might not fit under your counter, unless you replace the feet with shorter ones. I got them at JW Winco, and now it slides under my cabinet. It would be nice, if Nuova Simonelli provided a shorter set in the box . . .

1st of all you must purge the machine! The instructions dont tell you anything of this. To purge you have to cycle the machine on wait for the pump to stop then turn off and repeat with the steam wand in the open position. For my machine it took 5 times cycling on and off for the tanks to fill up. Your machine will blink the lights if the tank isnt full and it wont heat up. For the price this machine isn't as great as I expected it to be. I "upgraded" from a breville barista to this. I bought the tank version, but unlike breville this tank is loose and you can't just fill it from a pitcher because it has exposed electronics around it. Also the tank is so small and needs constant refilling. The tamper that came in the breville is decent and has a slot to be placed in the machine... the tamper that comes with the muscia is trash... so make your self a favor and order a tamper while you're at it. Also the portafilter isn't a standard portafilter, it has the ears in an angle so you can't use other portafilters if ypu have some from other machines. The waste water tray got stuck due to poor quality control. Unfortunately for me the tray was full and when it finally did snap out I spilled all the water. I had to shave off some excess plastic on the bottom of the tray so it could go in and out smoothly. The machine is rated to pull about 10 amps and the cord is 18 Guage which is bare minimum just to not burn. The cord gets warm after minimal use... I've seen computer chargers with bigger size wire. Over all this machine is lacking quality. They are cheating out in stuff that other cheaper machines have figured out. The main complain is the design of the water tank and how to refill.

I wouldn’t suggest buying this machine. I bought it and every shot I pulled was pulling so fast and straight black. I know how to do espresso and this was not working properly in my opinion. I returned it and they shorted me almost HALF on my refund because of a restocking fee I was never made aware of. NOT worth the buy! Three months later I still have no money back from it with going through the Amazon customer service.

This machine though expensive is an excellent choice for a small relatively slower customer base or for a family that likes to drink Lattes. We had it for about a month in our church lobby coffee shop but during the morning rush when 50 people were waiting it did not heat up quickly enough between shots so the wait time was too long for us. But an excellent machine in the right environment. Great quality and easy to use and clean. I recommend it given the stated issues.

This machine has not worked properly since the day we bought it!! The water spout sputters and the steam wand is too hot, but does not have enough pressure. We bought it in October and have already had to replace the 'O' ring on the fill tank. Sometimes the machine will randomly stop!. No luck contacting the seller. I would like to mention even with the massive amount of issues, it does pull nice shots!

Love this machine. We spent weeks watching and reading reviews for an espresso machine with a steamer wand. At first we thought we had struck gold with an automatic Breville unit, but it just didn’t get hit enough. After agonizing again, we decided to raise our budget significantly and went for the Musica. It’s a dream come true. The water is scalding hot. The water spout does indeed sputter as others note, but the warming top and superb steaming wand make up for the minor inconvenience. My wife makes espressos and lattes three or times a week and every single one has been delicious. It would be amazing if this unit had some sort of timer or clock built in to alleviate the manual warmup time, but we’re fine waking up 20 minutes earlier.

It was my first purchase. During the first installation there was a problem with heating water, it stays always cold and the boiler tank heating element indicator light doesn’t turn off. I can not use it. It doesn’t work(
