I did put it on top of a rug pad as I already had one down from previous rug and I thought it might be softer for my dogs but I’m not sure I needed it. Very pretty, lays flat nicely. I can see this goin in the wash but losing some color as my dogs lay on an area a lot and it’s already starting to fade I still recommend it for the price

    • The item is not the same color as pictured
I like the NuLoom rugs but, I was received a completely different color of rug than what is pictured and that I ordered. I received a red, navy blue and cream rug instead of the rust.
