These waves will flatten within 2 -3 weeks as you begin to use your new rug. Use these tricks to help flatten your rug:Back Rolling: Roll the carpet out, then roll it back up reversely with the backside up. Let it sit rolled up reversely for a day or 2, or until it flattens out.Heavy Objects: Lay a piece of heavy furniture or objects on affected areas for a day or 2, or until it flattens out. If the corners are sticking up, curl them back and place heavy objects on affected areas going the opposite way.Heat: Use this technique as a last resort only. Place the rug over a cleared concrete or area like a driveway or sidewalk setting during dry sunny conditions. Allow the rug to be positioned for optimal sunlight as long as possible to give the rug time to absorb the sun's heat for up to 2 hours, but use more time if needed.Blow Dryer: If a large concrete patch with optimal sunlight is not accessible, flip the rug over and use a hair dryer to affected areas to heat up the creases. Always hold the hair dryer 7 to 12 inches away from the rug going side to side on a medium setting, as heat can sometimes cause backing to melt.

I can't say enough about these rugs. I think they are absolutely beautiful. I initially bought one for underneath my desk at work and loved it so much that I bought one for my home. For the price, they really can't be beat. They are very soft, and each one is unique since different fabrics are used for each rug. As far as durability goes- you have to understand what you're getting and how to treat these rugs. If you're wanting to use this rug in a high traffic area, it is not going to hold up well. These are strips of fabric woven together. Yes, the fabric will pull out if you use this rug a lot. Both rugs I have have had this happen. I do what I can to push the fabric back in, but one rug is in a high traffic area (my rolling chair at my work desk) and the other one is in my bedroom and is frequently played with by my cats. I needed a solution for my elderly corgi who was slipping and sliding all over our hard tile floors. For my purposes, I couldn’t have found cuter for the cost... Now, bear in mind, she is 16, there is a potty pad on a tray in the bedroom for her, but she very occasionally misses getting her cute corgi rear-end over the entire pad. So while I have a good rug for my bedroom, I didn’t want to use it and have to steam it once a month. I needed something: A) Washable B) inexpensive (This is VERY AFFORDABLE— or was for me when I purchased) C) fairly soft to the touch and cushy for my dog-baby to get comfy on (Mine feels wonderful under foot. Thick and soft) D) Not so butt-ugly it causes eye-burn. (Mine is so cute!) I’d say this accomplishes those three things *really* well, plus it’s not even close to butt ugly, mine is really bright and very cute! Fun. However, there are a few cons that I feel I should point out, and it may or may not influence those of you who might have different intentions for this rug or are looking for other qualities. 1) It’s stringy. You’ll have to give it a shake, then a haircut, then another shake, then a haircut, then...rinse-repeat. It’s the nature of chindi rag-rugs. I expected it, but it bears mentioning. Plan on getting the vacuum out a few times a week for 52 string pick up. Doesn’t bother me, because I have to suck up the dog hair that often anyway. 2) Yes, you’ll need a pad/no skid tape unless you are putting it on carpet. 3) It’s not gonna last forever. That’s also the nature of these rag-style rugs. You can wash it, but be **gentle** & know that it won’t last forever. You can be comforted by the fact that it’s an upcycled/recycled product made of scraps, -at least it got another life-, and hey, it’s VERY affordable, it’s not an investment rug. 4) It’s thick enough to have problems next to a door. If you’re wanting it to go where a door will have to clear it, you’ll need really high door clearance. I had to do some arranging and I was glad I’d gone with a 3x5 vs a 4x6 for the small area I needed it in. 5) Your color palette may vary, and the stitching might leave something to be desired. First thoughts: Okay, it’s very fragile and they stuck giant packing stickers on it DIRECTLY, so I had to rip out pieces of the thin scarf material it’s woven with when I pried off, sorry, peeled off the two large rectangular stickers. It’s basically made of tissue paper. DO NOT VACUUM. You’ll tear this things to shreds. DO NOT MACHINE WASH. You’ll have a pile of fabric and a netted hammock when you come back to the wash. Currently hoping my cats only want to lounge on it instead of ripping it up. Lol 🤞🏻 The rug it’s self: It’s multi colored, but they used more green. However, it looks just like a multi colored rug to me. If I didn’t know it had other options I wouldn’t feel like it was a single color in particular, as there are just so many colors. Still a very pretty rug. I have many colors in my living room, so the rug looks perfect for me. I'm sure that other reviewers have covered this somewhat: I ordered the green version, and there is green mixed into my multicolor rug. Looks lovely, as long as you are not demanding that your imagined rug be exactly what is delivered. It is thicker than I expected, and my dogs love to lie on it under the kitchen counter while they watch me make dinner. The rug is certainly not durable, but it's made from fabric remnants, so I didn't really expect that. It was cheap, is attractive, and will last a while if we treat it with a bit of care. I'm expecting to need to repair it a bit at some point. One other note of caution: if you have a robot vacuum, shake out and take up the rug before running it. My robot had LOTS of colorful threads around the rotor. I won't do that again. :) ... show more
