I show three photos of this diamond patterned throw rug;1) the 5 by 8 two side-by-side under the dining room table,2) older previous mat aside by side with the new diamond pattern mat 3) as bathroom mat over a smart step thick cushioned mat. This new Diamond pattern rug still snags with cat claws but it’s more confined (see photos); it can be trimmed whereas the older one had clusters of yarn flat that could not be trimmed without ruining the connection to the reminder of the rug (see older Mat photo). The design on this rug the diamond pattern is better for those snags. I have snags on all of my rugs this cotton diamond pattern seems to do better than most others I’ve tried, and it’s washable. My wool ones I have to take out to the driveway to scrub and allow it to dry. This one is thin like a bath shower mat so it is easier to throw in the washer. I bought 2 instead of a large one size so I can more easily machine wash them, and I’ve already washed one of the 5 by 8 in my front loader home washing machine (some hair ball puke came out in wash). Length shrunk about 4”, width shrunk a bit less. I found the 8’ by 10’ was difficult to transport to the laundromat or out of the washer (wet it’s heavy). Obviously that center line shown in the photo under the dining table doesn’t completely lay flat even with it taped down. (I’m also trying an under rug anti-slip mat option for a similar style rug elsewhere, with masking tape to hold the pad to the rug). I have a smaller version of this pattern which I have washed and it’s wonderful in the bathroom over a smart step cushioned mat (photo in bathroom). In the bathroom the thin rug fits perfectly under the open door and over the cushioned mat. The pattern on this design is light in color (taupe and cream) and subtle enough to not overwhelm the decor. The taupe is a gray brown. It’s not as soft as the older previous plain mat (shown in the side by side photo with the older beige plain Mat). I had the older rug, same manufacturers about two years. Great rug but it definitely needs to be paired with the floor gripper pad thingy and I can wash it in my machine yeaaaaaa

They did a good job on the loom, but the material could be better. I'm not sure what kind of factory they made the material in, but there is junk in the thread. There is a few pieces of thread of other color that I can live with, but there are a ton of these plastic/foil threads mixed in. It isn't from the carpet coming into contact with other material or carpet. These are buried in the thread, which means they went in when the thread was spun. I can understand the factory making other color threads, but not sure why they would have these plastic foil material. Feels like someone's snack bag fell in or something. They are all over the carpet, I've pulled a ton of them out. Also tried washing it like other people mentioned. Got a ton of fuzz from the carpet afterwards. It also shrunk a little bit. Probably also good to remove the sticker on the back prior to washing, since it is made of paper. The label disintegrated during the wash. We bought this to use as a play-mat for our baby. The appeal was that it was made of cotton, but that has been off-put by the garbage in the threads. Don't want the baby finding the strands of plastic foil and eating them. ... show more

This is a quiet, non-synthetic, small geometric patterned flat weave rug, grey and off white , which is exactly what I wanted. It goes under a guest bed to soften the room. I can use almost any sheet set with it since it is quite neutral in color and pattern. It is comfortably soft underfoot, but not plush by any means. I have it anchored by two bed legs so it will not wander, but it stays put otherwise. I am not sure it would work well as a free-standing rug, but under a bed (or table maybe) it does. It is perfectly 'square' and isn't stretched out weirdly like some rugs can be. I have kilims, and this rug blends in fine with them texture-wise. Best for home where occupants remove shoes and dont have snaggy-footed pets, but who's to say. ... show more

I haven’t tried washing this yet. But it was a selling point for me. With dogs, I’m done throwing rugs away cause they get smelly. I was apprehensive that a rug 5x8 would fit In my washer, but it’s pretty light weight and soft. I got a a thick non skid to go under it, which does pretty well to keep it in place. **** If you are a dog owner. My medium and XL dogs get the zoomies and totally kick it up out of place, even with the non skid. But they cray. Also just after a day; there are catches in the threads from their nails. Which really sucks. But I think I can pull them back through the other side. ... show more

    • Great alternative to ruggable

Ruggables are expensive and I needed a bigger size rug for the living room. I wanted a washable rug since I have pets and messy kids. It's not stiff and padded like a traditional rug, but since it's sitting underneath a large coffee table, it worked fine for my needs. With a traditional rug, I don't like having to spot clean bc you can never get dog smell out of those. Nice texture and loom. No straggly strands. My only complaint was that the manufacturer had a product sticker on the rug which has a strong adhesive that stuck to the rug rather than the protective wrapping it came in. ... show more

This is our second rug purchase from Nuloom. This rug in particular looks upscale in our living space. We have Restoration hardware furniture but didn’t want to purchase a rug because we have dogs and a baby so it’s a moot point and we need to replace our rugs anyway. This rug looks similar to RH rugs but for only a small fraction of the price. We have a very thick pad underneath making it soft to step on. I highly suggest using a thick rug pad otherwise it will be too thin. ... show more
