This rug came nicely packed in a plastic bag. I love the fact that it came rolled in a tube instead of folded. It lays flat without any marks. It had a little bit of a humidity smell but it goes away really fast. It has a rustic look with some uneven knots but it looks really nice overall. It feels soft on your feet. It gives my family room a very cozy feel. After looking for a natural rug like this for quite some time, and reading so many reviews, I think I did the right choice with this one. I’ve spent what seems like too much time, and money, trying to find something as simple as a new area rug. Most of these rugs are treated with chemicals and smell horrible from off gassing. So I decided to try a “healthier” way to go. This jute and cotton rug is perfect! From the start there was no smell other than the plastic it came in. I didn’t need to air it out. I did go ahead and deodorize it with baking soda on both sides and vacuumed both sides as well. But honestly didn’t even need to. No bugs! And believe me I looked hard for anything in there. It’s softer than I thought it would be and nothing poking my feet. A rug pad would be helpful to add cushion. Time will tell when it comes to any kind of spot cleaning. I’m just so happy to finally find something that looks great and won’t gas up my home with potential harmful chemicals. ... show more

A little rougher than I expected. Looks like a handwoven carpet, love the aesthetic. Some of the pieces start getting pulled up after a little while from my cat but that’s his fault not the carpet. Keep in mind with pets.

I love that this rug is 60% jute / 40% cotton. Jute material is perfect for my bunnies and and the cotton adds a bit of softness and color to it. This rug is also VERY easy to vacuum over. My previous area rug was nice, but a nightmare to vacuum my buns Cocoa Puffs. I’d have to sweep all the poopies off the rug first then go over it again with the vacuum and it had little tassels that I could never get the pee out of. With this rug I can just go straight into vacuuming and the rug doesn’t come up and get sucked into the vacuum. It stays nicely firm against the floor, but it’s also quite light and easy to move or transport, as well. We’ll see if I can keep them from peeing on it. ... show more
