Good: * It fits phones, tablets, and some game controllers. * The hinges feel nice and stiff. * It folds down into a compact size. Bad: * The paint seems to chip fairly easily, so maybe buy one in silver if you care about that. I do often use mine to hold a tablet that doesn't have a case on it, so maybe that's why. * While it can fit a tablet, it may tip over if you put a tablet in portrait mode and tap the upper half of the screen. I don't often use my tablet in portrait mode, but you could probably weigh the base down with something like a small bag of rice. Overall, I would probably buy this again. Nevertheless, it is able to sustain the weight with no tipping, at both vertical and horizontal positions. It is very compact, and I store it in my lunch bag for use at work. It is easy to set up and take down in seconds. I also like the aluminum construction and powder coat finish. They also remembered to include rubber bumper pads, to avoid scratching surfaces. This cell phone stand is brilliant for business travel. Construction is solid. The hinges are stout so the overall size and weight is about the size of a deck of playing cards when folded. I use a thick phone case and have had no problems using the stand with it on. Strategically placed rubber pads prevent the phone from slipping even during moderate turbulence and the hinges hold the phone in whatever angle you choose giving you plenty of options for slipping it into the airplane seat pocket, behind the tray table, or just set it on the tray table itself. The supports don't interfere with the phone's charging port either. When not flying, it's an excellent phone stand for using your phone for a spare display, making video calls, or vlogging. We decided on these stands because they sit on our desks this way they can charge and not bind the charing cords, this way we can still see the screen and answer calls if we need to. The size is perfect, and the metal is sturdy enough to hold our phones secure. The price is great.
