This has been a nice addition to our small appliances. Makes ice very quickly and has a small footprint on the counter. The fan isn’t quite but also isn’t loud like the fan over the stove. Just loud enough so you know it’s on and you can hear the first ice fall into the basket. The water reservoir is on the small side and is very easy to fill. The basket comes out easily to empty the ice and allows you drain the water off before dumping the ice. The scoop fits perfectly in the basket and the hanger has keep us from losing it. One thing to consider when you’re saving a lot of ice for a party and storing it in the freezer, the ice pellets freeze together & we have to use an ice pick to break it up. Overall we’re very pleased with this purchase.

Used this to supplement the low-functioning ice maker in our refrigerator... works well as described. It's a bit louder than expected but acceptable. Perfect ice nuggets for drinks or chewing/eating. Typically uses 4-5 cups of water per day in our application.

Great personal ice maker, purchased this for a pole barn “cabin” where we only have a mini fridge with a freezer compartment the size of an egg carton, just not as long. Pros: Makes ice fairly quickly. The controls are easy to read and the low water indicator is great so you don’t have to keep checking. Compact, easy to store, nice design. Ice basket comes out, making the scooper just an added item that most probably wouldn’t use, but nice to have in times you would. I have only used the large size ice maker, I would use small if I intended to crush the ice or make a blended beverage. There is a drain plug on the bottom, no need to tip the entire bucket over. Cons: It take up to two cycles for the ice to make the correct size (large). The handle is flimsy and would not depend on using it to carry the machine anywhere. Suggestions: Use filtered or bottle water, not tap. Start making ice about 30 minutes before intending to use, keep the machine going. Use an insult aged ice bucket to keep ice, or place in a freezer or cooler. * The ice maker does not keep the ice, if you want that you will need to pay a much higher price point. Let the maker cycle through at least 2 times to get the expected size cube. When finished making ice, drain well and dry the inside of the ice/water well, to prevent mold/mildew. Keep in mind this is a portable ice maker, not an industrial ice maker. It does the job very well at a decent price point. I would highly recommend.

IMPORTANT; Before plugging it in, set it upright on a lever surface for 24 hours. The device ships on it’s side so the machine oil needs time to settle. I’m willing to be the reviews about awful noises are because this wasn’t done. It’s killed me to have to wait, but it was worth it. First thing the next day, like a kid on Christmas morning, I filled the reservoir and stared at the ice chute. Sure enough, it stared producing ice in just a few minutes. And the ice is wonderful! Small chewy bits of frozen goodness! I haven’t made 30 pounds of ice in one day, but I’m certain the machine is capable of it. There are two of us and we both love ice and lots of it. We’ve never run out. We’ve come close, but it only takes about 20 minutes and the bin is full again. It’s like a loud refrigerator and will get on your nerves if you have a great room with a kitchen. This is a negative for all portable ice machines. I doubt there is such a thing as a quiet portable ice maker. Plan on setting it up in a nearby room. We have ours in a stand in the laundry room. We’ve had ours for three months and absolutely love it! Very highly recommended! UPDATE: Silonn has great customer service! Three months past the warranty, our machine started acting up. I contacted customer service and heard back in less than 24 hours! They asked for a few pictures of the machine and the serial number. Again, in less than 24 hours, customer service informed us they were shipping us a replacement. We didn’t even have to return the broken machine. Not only that, they’re sending us a tracking number when it ships. Extraordinary!

Makes Ice good! This unit is very handy to have, especially if your family goes through a lot of ice! makes it fairly quickly, features 2 ice sizes. At first I felt that the basket was a bit small, and actually, I do prefer if it would be larger, but as a family of 3 who are using it a lot, it is still working out for us. If the basket were bigger, it would hold more ice; However, the unit has a quick response time, so fresh ice is being made continually as you use it. We use filtered water, and try to clean it once a week. It also features an auto clean mode, which I sometimes use. We are pleased with the purchase.

I like this ice maker because its not too big and doesn't take up too much counter space. The size of the ice is perfect! The only negative would be its a little loud. Not too loud that its an interruption but if the house is quiet you can definitely hear it. I would recommend!

I am really enjoying this ice machine! I love Sonic ice, and this is very close to it. It makes the ice quickly, and cycles off and on to keep ice made until you turn it off. The machine does not keep it cold, so as the ice melts, the water cycles back through to be made into ice again. The scoop that came with it is just the right size, but I cannot get the suction cup to stay on the side of the machine. I created a whole drink station with drink enhancers and cute insulated cups, and I just feel spoiled having this ice at home. When I put it in an insulated cup, there is still ice left 12 hours later.
