    • Stylish - Not The Most Comfortable
I got this couch last month, and to preface my review, I will say that I needed this piece for furnishing my first apartment and I am confined to a VERY tight budget. So I was looking for the cheapest couch possible that still looked nice. Overall I am satisfied with my first ever couch, but excited for the day when I can afford a nice, high quality, real leather, and comfortable couch, and give this one to someone in need. So if you can afford to get a better couch than this one, I would recommend to just bite the bullet and invest in a better couch. You will regret your purchase if you had more money to spend on a couch and got this one instead. I simply couldn't afford a nicer couch. First, I'll start off with the cons: If you are looking for a comfortable couch and that is your #1 priority in buying a couch, this is not the couch for you. Just pay more for comfort. Seriously. It will be worth it for you. If you are looking for a quality couch that will last a long time, this is not the couch for you. For example, the arms are held in place by 3 bolts at the bottom, and so when people lean their bodyweight on the arm (most people I know sit this way), you can tell its not meant to support that type of lounging because it moves and creaks a little lol. My sister slept over on the couch and she said that she would have been more comfortable if I had a sleeping pad, so I'll have to invest in one of those for my guests. Keep in mind, she's a side sleeper and this is a firm couch. Might be better if you sleep on your back, but still, the couch is not as padded as I thought it would be. I was expecting the padding to be firm because that's what I saw from reviews, but it doesn’t seem as substantial as I'd hoped. I thought the foam was going to be more dense? Idk how else to describe it, but that is something that surprised me a little was how "hollow" the seats feel. Like eventually with more wear I'll just fall through. Even with how cheap it is, I wasn't expecting the seats to feel like that. Oh well. To end my review on a positive note... Pros: This couch was easy to assemble, I am pregnant and was able to do it all by myself easily within an hour or 2. The instructions were straightforward and everything was labeled accurately. The couch looks exactly like the photos, it is very aesthetic and chic. The price is great, you really can't complain much with this pricepoint. Biggest reason why I bought it was the look of it and the price point, as well as the fact that is doubles as a sleeper for guests. It is comfortable enough (if you're not going to be lounging for hours), and is on the firm side, which I like firm. This couch suits my needs. Overall, I was pinching pennies when buying this, and I am already looking forward to when I can afford a nicer, more cozy couch. However, it suits my needs for the time being and will get me by. Plus it's just so darn good looking in my living room. I am satisfied with the purchase. :) ... show more

This couch was originally purchased for my spare room being used as a TV room for the kids to hang out in. It was easyish to assemble. Unfortunately it was way too small and not comfortable enough to chill on. As you can see form the photo, I ended up keeping it anyway and using it as an additional accent couch in my living room and it worked out perfectly! The aqua color matches the accent colors in the living room very nicely. It is more aqua in color than the photos shows. It is less of a denim color as seen in my pictures. It is not very comfortable, especially the futon aspect of it. No one is going to be happy sleeping on this and it feels a bit unstable to do so. It is nice for guests to just sit on for a bit, but not a great couch to chill on and watch TV for too long. For the price I paid for it ($179.00), it is a good deal and great for a small space and infrequent, casual sitting, but not really for main couch and as you can see from the photos, it is much too small for a 12'x12' room. It looked minuscule in there. All and all, I don't regret my purchase and think it worked out for the better. Just be sure that you put the couch together where you will be putting the couch because once it is put together it is hard to move around and from room to room due to the movable back and you cant really slide it much because the legs are on an angle and may crack. Once together it cannot be moved through standard doorways and will have to be partially dissembled. Hope this review was helpful. :) ... show more

Well, I wanted to love this couch. It's perfect for my small space, matches my color scheme, and is much more attractive than your average futon/convertible bed. Unfortunately, this was damaged before I ever received it. Random stains throughout the fabric and stuffing poking out in multiple places. It also has a strange, strong odor to it, but maybe that would fade with time. Despite the immediate evidence that this was not going to be my couch (if I wanted to start with stains, I would have saved myself $275 and gone to the thrift store), I decided to put it together anyway just to see how it looked set up, the comfort level, and if I would want to replace it. After about 30 minutes of deciphering how to install the armrests (which still felt a little flimsy once on), I discovered that I was given the wrong pieces for the legs. Instead of two E's and two D's, I received all E's - making it impossible to install two feet... so ended up unscrewing the E leg and just enjoying my Japanese modern floor couch. Really, it is comfortable and cute... definitely needed legs and definitely should NOT have COME WITH stains. But I would have liked this a lot if not for those issues. I started by contacting Novogratz, as suggested by Amazon, and got referred back to DHP. DHP offered to send me the right legs, but I said that I would need to contact Amazon if I wanted a different body as they don't carry the full unit, only extra parts. I reached out to Amazon today and they offered me a partial refund to keep it (20 percent off), or to return it for either a full refund or a replacement. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), this is now out of stock. So I am opting for a full refund and hoping that it works out. It's another day I will need to stay home from work to oversee the trade-off, but I am thankful that they are able to pick it up directly from my house as that was a major reason I ordered this (I used the $20 "deliver to room of choice") option which was GREAT.
