I am so glad I bought this box spring, and at a bargain. It raises the profile of the bed just enough to make the daily chore of making my bed much easier! Before, it was a bit of a struggle to get the fitted sheet onto the mattress since it nested into the bed frame.     • Manufacturer needs better quality control

This arrive this afternoon, and I immediately went to work assembling it. I quickly doscovered that what another reviewer said was true. One hinged side rail went togethr perfectly where the bolt that holds the side rail straight threads in to a fixed nut. The other side rail? Well, it seems the manufacturer doesnt know how to make the hole for the bolt and the fixed nut line up. I debated heading out to the shop for a drill bit, but the screw was already jammed in place (I was using a drill driver to speed things up), so I decided to simply let the two cross rails (slats?), that also are held in place by wingnuts, do the job. It would appear that there is insufficient quality control at the factory where these are manufactured, or this problem would not occur. That being said, the assembled unit seems quite sturdy, and being half the height of the one it replaced, my wife will have a much easier time getting in and out of bed. ... show more

Beware of some furniture items you buy new from Amazon. I finally got around to assembling this box spring. It was obviously returned and resold as the box was within a new box and repackaged. The original box was re-taped and the previous labeled cut out off the box cardboard and all. The screws were in a zip lock bag and missing a few but luckily I had machine screws to put this product together. I would stick to buying furniture products on other websites like Wayfair. The products there are better quality and are new. I would have returned this item, but don't feel like going through the hassle and taking a large heavy box to UPS or Kohl's.
