This little sandwich maker has become one of my favorite “quick meal” gadgets. It heats up fast, cooks evenly, and makes perfect grilled sandwiches, quesadillas, and even little pizza pockets in just a few minutes. This is a fun little appliance that gets the job done. I bought this when I lost the electric circuit that my microave sits on. Until the electric company can come out and go up their pole to replace their equipment, I needed something electric to heat some small things in. This appliance fits the bill. I use it to prepare Mac n Cheese cups, the kind that you add water to the fill line and put in your microwave for a period of time. Instead of the microwave, I put the contents into this little pan and heat it that way. Comes out perfectly. I also heat water, and have cooked Klondike Flap Jack cups in it, same way. It all works out great. I have heated chili in it, too. This little appliance heats stuff rapidly, much quicker than the microwave. So far, I have no issues at all of getting the food out of the pan, and the cooking surface stays clean. Even if it appears that something is cooked on, it's not. Just fool with it a little, and the whole bottom will come out intact, at once, and you can eat that, too. This appliance is small. It isn't going to cook a lot at once, but for spot meals, or tiny meals, it works. The one thing that I would caution on is the heat. This thing gets HOT. The lid has a steam vent which it would behoove you to rotate away from the tab handle in order to keep the tab from cooking your fingers. Which is not to say that the tab doesn't get hot. It does. You may have to employ a hot pad, or some cloth something that you can use on the tiny tab to pick the pan up. The pan is easy to lift off of the heating element. There are no other handles to move the pan around, and none on the body of the unit itself. You have to teach yourself to move slowly and carefully around the appliance, and make sure that the body is not touching anything lest it melt a cord or something. Do not let paper products touch the body while in use, for safety. The 260 watts heat up quickly and impressively. There is no on/off button. Your on/off button is the electric plug. This is okay, because you have to remain with the appliance while in use, and you will be forced to unplug it when done cooking. So, that works out. The only criticism I have is the little blue light which indicates that the appliance is on. It can barely be seen, and you have to cup your fingers around the light to see it working. You have to be careful not to touch the body of the appliance in order to avoid a burn. One feature I especially like is the fact that the lid is clear glass, which enables you to see the food inside and what is happening to it. It is very easy to clean. There are actually TWO cooking surfaces to use; I do not plan to use the lower level one because I think you can only use one at a time, anyway, and the top one is sufficient. The lower one is not detachable and underneath that is where the electronics would be, so I don't plan to use it. But, I could. The surface on the top is deeper but a tad smaller. No big deal. All in all, I am not sorry I bought this appliance. It is getting me through a hard time, and every little bit of convenience we can get is important.

*Initial Experience* I’m rating this appliance 4 stars due to the product received arriving with a skillet pan upon which the lid could not fit ((pictured)) as the pan was irregularly shaped upon arrival - one side being round, the other being more of an oval. Additionally, post trying the product (the which I had not done prior to coming to an agreed upon resolve regarding the aforementioned with Amazon Customer Service), the indicator light did not turn on at any time while the unit was plugged it. Considering this item was ordered via Amazon Warehouse ‘Used - Like New’, I cannot say what factors played a part in the product being in the condition it was in upon arrival - the listing only noting the original box was damaged. Although damage to the actual product, to include the indicator light malfunction was not listed, this rating only deducts 1 star as I truly appreciate the Amazon customer support rep that assisted me - helping make a not so pleasant experience buying an electrical cooking appliance from Amazon Warehouse for the first time brighter by extending a “one-time curtesy”… Now to the good stuff about the Nostalgia MyMini Electric Skillet & Noodle Maker that also factor into this 4 star rating. :) *Cooking ‘Tester’ Experience* When it comes to heating up, the appliance I received does heat up despite the indicator light never coming on at any time. While I was unable to effectively use the pan’s lid during the heating and cooking process, I tested the skillet pan by scrambling eggs mixed with some rice I had already cooked prior to using this appliance ((pictured)). It cooked very well. I was well pleased with the overall performance. *Final Thoughts* I am impressed with the Nostalgia MyMini Electric Skillet & Noodle Maker - so much so that I informed a number of individuals about it post trying it. This is a product experience that I wish I could have rated 5 stars as the Nostalgia MyMini Electric Skillet & Noodle Maker is an appliance that I can see myself using often. It’s also one that I would buy again as a gift for others, as well as myself - brand new this time of course. :) ___________ UPDATE: After repeated attempts at shaping the skillet pan, I was able to stretch the skillet pan enough to make the lid fit the pan. It’s not a perfect fit considering how it started out, but I’ll take it. :) Now I’m looking forward to really seeing what this little gadget can do. - Thankful!
