This fountain works fine if you follow the instructions and make the chocolate the correct consistency. If your chocolate is too thick the fountain will not work. Also they shouldn’t be used for a large gathering because the fountain is small.

It's a small fountain as folks have mentioned, but it's fantastic for the price. I'm sure I'll get more uses out of it, but even if I don't it was well worth what I paid for it to have for my son's Fantasy Football draft tonight.

When the box was delivered, I gasp? It was tiny but the tiny little chocolate fountain worked great. I researched and made my own chocolate with milk chocolate chips and coconut oil. I melted the mixture in the microwave, added it to the fountain and I didn't have any problems with it. It run for 6 hours through my daughters entire bday party. It is small but for a small party really delivers. Clean-up was what I expected and I did it as soon as I turned the machine off. No problems. My daughter wanted this for 8th bday party to have some chocolate covered treats, and it was a big hit! Very easy to assemble and use. It’s small(right size for my family) but does the job!
