Newest update after a month or 2 of trying this product*****This is my RE-RE try! I’ve been trying to find the best solution to my issue with the product getting too absorbed in my hands and feet and then fading streaky and making me look like I have snake skin. Well I think I found a weird fix to my issues even though it’s not something recommended, so I mixed some of the solution with lotion and that’s basically it. It helps the blending and doesn’t dry out my skin nearly as harsh and for my hands and feet I hardly mix any lotion on my hands just with the remaining on my gloves after I am all done and avoiding my knuckles more than the rest of my hands and it’s been *chefs kiss* amazing. With the lotion it makes it very gradual and actually super subtle which I actually prefer and if I wanted it darker I can just reapply again. I prefer the lotion method a lot more and the tone of this tanning product since it doesn’t make me orange. Update ***After a few tries I’m lowering my star rating because the way this tan fades is absolutely atrocious 😭 it’s like I’m a snake and I make sure to lotion twice daily or more and drink water and it still looks awful. Original review: Listing my pros and cons at the end but: I gave this brand another try! I definitely do like this Venetian version much better than the clear solution. The Venetian is DEFINITELY much more purple based and in an incredibly pale, like the whites foundation shade ever, some concealers are too dark for me it helps a lot to avoid the Oompa Loompa look. I put it on 5 hours ago and it’s already developed so dark on my skin but it is not orange it’s very deep and purple based. My hands are feet are still a working process and I will eventually find my preference when doing them. I don’t know what happened with my previous application from the other color I bought but this one was incredibly better! Initially I thought I’d hate the bronzing in this but it actually helps me avoid any streaking and helps me blend the solution sooooo much better! I use a foaming bottle and large kabuki brush and just blend it out. I still have about another 10-15 more coats I could do with this bottle of solution which is a ton vs going to a salon or buying a different foaming brand that lasts maybe 4-5 times.. I have no streaks or any lines anywhere and I still haven’t washed it off yet it’s only a few hours after placement. Pro: -dries so fast, -great with kabuki brush/foam combo -Smells actually very pleasant -Had no transfer issues even to my white socks I wore to bed -no orange very dark -lasts a LONG time I already know because of another color I bought this will last me 2+ weeks on MY skin. Cons: -the application did take a while especially if you wanted a good blend. It’s not a swipe and done kind of motions it’s a swipe then move and blend and spread and spread -kind of too dark but again haven’t showered yet -if you aren’t a purple undertone type of tanner this is not the tan for you -still absorbing too much in my hands and feet but I’m not sure if it’s user error or not

Best spray tanning solution!

My daughter and I have tried several different spray tanning solutions, and this absolutely by far the BEST one we have used up to this point. The Norvell Venetian solution is so easy to see when you are spraying it, which makes for a very easy application. The color comes out extremely even and it is a fool proof spray tan for us. Other ones have come out uneven, were difficult to spray properly and evenly and looked terrible even after washing. We are both very light and fair skinned and this Norvell Venetian solution comes out looking like a very natural looking dark and tan color. It fades very evenly and does not look blotchy and ugly like most other spray tanning solutions have looked once they start to fade. The spray tan lasts very well (between 5-8 days for us) as long as you apply a moisturizer a couple times a day and keep your skin hydrated. We re-spray every 7 days typically and that works well for us. Always exfoliate and scrub off old solution well enough. Also take short, cool showers after spraying and it will last longer. The solution dries almost instantly after spraying and does not leave your skin feeling sticky and uncomfortable for hours after your spray like most other spray tanning solutions in the past have done. The smell is a tropical/coconut scent while being sprayed and does not have a scent or odor after being sprayed/showering. We use anywhere from 1.5-2.5 ounces depending on how dark we want our tans to be. The more solution or the more coats you apply, the darker your tan will be. You truly can use this product to fit anyone's skin color or desires in regards to how dark/tan they want to be. You can do a quick/light coat and look sun kissed or do a heavy coat and look much darker. This is a great product! Love this solution and will definitely be purchasing this again when this bottle is all used up! Try it, you will not regret it! Here is an explanation of how I rate my reviews : 5 Stars – I love it! It is absolutely fantastic and I can't think of anything negative to say about it. I would purchase it again and would recommend others to purchase it as well! Well worth the money paid and I am very happy with it. 4 Stars – I like it! It is a great product, but there may be something I would change which makes it less than perfect (less than 5 stars). I would still purchase the item again or recommend it to others as well. 3 Stars - It is just alright. I am on the fence about the product, could either take it or leave it. May have been disappointed based on what I expected and would most likely try to find something different next time. 2 Stars – It is not so good. This is a product that I am not so happy about. Either the quality is lacking or it just is not as described and I would not purchase again or recommend. 1 Star – I dislike it! Great Product! (Applied without a spraying device)

I am not a spray tan expert or professional; strictly a beginner. If you have a spray technique you like, certainly stick with it. My experience with spray tans was limited to my daughter's yearly requirement to have one prior to her cheer competition. After a few years of this expense, I decided to order my own supplies and try to apply it myself. For the cost of one tan, I could purchase an entire bottle of solution. Makes sense, right? Knowing nothing about spray tans, I decided on this product after trying to make sense out of endless reviews. I tried to pick out some type of spraying device, but that became too confusing so I decided to just buy the solution and figure out the rest later. The solution arrived quickly and I could not wait to try it. I still had no spraying device, but I had to do something (is anyone else impulsive, or is it just me?). I forced my son to be my tanning experiment. He has medium/dark skin tone. After his shower, I applied it to his legs while they were still damp, but not dripping wet. I used a small synthetic sponge (the plastic kind) and rubbed it in thoroughly with a latex-gloved hand. The results were spectacular! The color was rich and flattering, not orangey. No weird smells, no grease. It was a natural look. I did it without spraying. I could call it a "sponge tan" or a "rub tan," but that sounds rather strange. Bolstered by my success, I moved on to other family members. My daughter was my next victim, at her request. I was concerned how it would look on her, as her skin is very fair. It looked good on her too! Lastly, I applied it to myself. We now look like a family who just returned from some exotic vacation. No one turned orange or looked spotted. Nice color without the harmful effects of too much sun exposure. I am pleased with the results, but I realize everyone has different expectations. If you choose to apply this product without a spraying device and without any experience, here are a few lesson I learned. *The solution has a colorant to let you know where it is and how it has been applied - look closely. Be sure to keep it even! Reapply and rub whenever necessary. For small spots that need to even out, dipping a gloved finger into the solution and rubbing it precisely where it is needed works for me. *Experiment with the level of moisture you like skin to have when applying a tan. *Do not be in a hurry! Do not apply in low lighting! Time and bright light help significantly. Probably common sense for the non-impulsive personalities out there. *Please use gloves! The colorant is not very forgiving. A latex glove works best, but the free ones that come with hair coloring kits will work. *Faces seem to be particularly difficult - do them only when you are more experienced. *You may have drips on the floor - clean up quickly. No spraying means less mess, but still be careful of drips and spills. *Keep your newly-applied tan dry for 12 hours, if possible, to let it set into your skin. Water drips and runs will remove the tanning solution and leave streaks or splotches. *I am a 5'3" woman and use about 1 1/2 tablespoons to cover my legs, arms, shoulders, neck, and upper chest. No spraying means virtually no waste. *I am pleased with my results. Be sure to practice on inconspicuous areas first and then, when you like your technique, get that all over glow. Nice color result; could last a little longer

Good color, not at all orangey. Develops relatively quickly but it has a brown color when you put it on so you look great right away. Distributes easily across the skin using a brush or mitt. Feels expensive, but you are getting a lot in this big bottle. I apply with a spray bottle and it takes several ounces to do your whole body. Only 4 stars because I feel like the color doesn’t last as long as I’d like. I end up reapplying almost daily to keep the color looking even.

I’ve bought this giant bottle of tanner twice and I’ll never use anything else! The price is 100% worth it because a bottle can last you at least a year, maybe more (though it does work best when you use it within a year of opening it). I’ve had spray tans before and used lots of drugstore and luxury brands. So I know you need to prep first with a good body scrub (I use Dove.), and skip lotion. (On days between tans, use lotion twice a day and no body scrub.) After shower and scrub, I pour the Norvell liquid into a foam soap pump, and pump it out onto a B Tan tanning mitt from Walmart. Then just buff it on. Norvell is tinted dark, so you can see where you’re covering. I even use this on my face and I have a fair complexion. Another option is to spray: I purchased a “continuous mist” spray bottle and poured Norvell inside. In my basement staircase, (where I don’t care about the floors getting stained), I spray the tanner all over. You can bend over and spray it over your shoulder to get your back. I buff it in with a tanning mitt, and it works great. As with any spray tan, it’s good to put a thick hand lotion on your nails/cuticles and between fingers and toes to keep the tanner from settling there.

Love the color! Not sticky

The color of the tan looks so good and my favorite thing about this tan is that it’s not super sticky like other fake tan products can be. When I went to bed the first time I used it, I felt kind of sticky and didn’t think I was gonna sleep well and it was super surprised when I woke up in the middle of the night that I was no longer sticky at all! I used it again this morning and it’s been like three hours and the stickiness is already gone. The guide color WILL transfer while it develops so be mindful of that if you have nice sheets. I use a continuous mist spray bottle to spray sections of my body, and then blend it in with a self tanning mitt. This lets me get a lot of area quickly, but you absolutely have to use the mitt or it would look crazy. On my face, I use a kabuki brush. There are other reviews saying it doesn’t smell and I’m not sure. I don’t totally agree with that because it definitely has a fake tan smell. The smell really isn’t too bad, but my husband said that our bed smells “like a horse” after I slept overnight to let the tan develop 🤣. The smell did not last after I showered! I’m not going to take any stars off for that because I’m pretty positive that the smell is due to the ingredient that causes the tan and it’s unavoidable.
