I am SO GLAD I bought this. The weather for our theme park visit was mostly nice but the last day it rained. It started with a torrential downpour for about 20-30 minutes (just as we were exiting a ride) and then rained steadily off and on for the rest of the day. This poncho was big enough to cover the rider, the seat, the controls, plus the front and back baskets. It kept the rider and scooter dry except for the bottom of her legs. As others have mentioned, there was a little leakage around the velcro opening but a couple drops on her shirt were minimal given the drenching rain that occurred. It did want to slide around/rotate a little but I anticipated that and had a couple of bulky clips (office supplies) with me and I was able to clip it to the front and back baskets which then held it in place. The rented scooter had all these warnings about not getting it wet (as an engineer, this seems like a design flaw to me) so without this cover we would have been dashing for cover and stuck there until the rain ended many hours later - not to mention worrying about damage to the scooter. Other scooter riders were commented that it looked like a great idea as they tried to cover the rider and scooter with two ponchos or plastic bags. This worked for all day rainy Disneyland days but where the Velcro closes leaks. I had to take a hand towel from the hotel to put under it or my pants would get wet. Other than that it worked as it should.

I bought this for my trip to universal in Florida, it rained two days straight, and kept me and the scooter dry. I ended up purchasing two more for a friend who also went a few weeks later and it rained on them as well, they were glad they had these!!!

Interesting concept. So light im afraid of tearing it though. its like putting a blk garbage bag over you( but a bit heavier) but not much that it slides all over and very hard to keep in place. Had it been windy with rain i think id have been drenched. Still neat if not windy out or raining very hard. ... show more

I wanted to like this item but it arrived today with a large section of elastic not sewn into the cape. So disappointed. It is being immediately returned.
