A great value, good build quality, Android 12 with promised updates, perfect size portable tablet
Style: Nokia T10
I am very surprised by how much I really like this no-frills perfect size tablet. The UI is as close to stock Android as you can get and is up-to-date. I use mine for News apps (Google News, NYT, WP, Boston Globe, LA Times) and it works great. I also have social media apps on there... it's a great YouTube and TikTok machine, and a bunch of streaming movie apps like HULU and Netflix. I'm not a gamer other than Wordle and puzzle games, but I imagine this is probably not an excellent tablet for things requiring a lot of RAM. I tried to make it work with side-loading the Google Play store on a Fire HD8+ tablet but it really wasn't the best. I'm really glad I traded that in for this instead. This size is better also-- not quite as wide as the Fire HD8+. And the software is so much better than FireOS. It came with one feature I didn't know it would have (and now I don't know how I could live without), and that's 'Second Screen'. It easily connects wirelessly to a Windows 11 computer without any need for installing drivers or other software for use as an additional monitor (similar to SideCar for Mac). Super handy and easy and incredibly useful. I really don't quite understand why this isn't more popular of a tablet than the Lenovo or Amazon or Samsung tablets of similar size. In my experience, this is much more well-built and enjoyable to use. ... show more

Stock Android with Android 12 and free upgrade to 13 and 14 when they ship
Style: Nokia T10
This is so far (Oct-12-2022) the best 8" Android tablet at any price. The fact that it is so cheap is a bonus. It is a way better option than Amazon 8" fire which costs almost half the price, but for that cheap price you only get half the RAM (2GB instead of 4GB) and Amazon constantly bombards you with adds. On top of that the an Android app that you like is NOT available on Amazon store AND YOU CAN NOT USE GOOGLE PLAY STORE with and Amazon tablet. You have to use the Amazon store and you cannot remove the Amazon bloatware apps from your tablet. Did I mention that Amazon NEVER upgrades the version of Android they use in their tablets? With the Nokia T10 you pay about twice as much as for a fire HD8, but you get the following benefits: - No adds - No bloatware at all! - Free Android 12, with 2 years of OS upgrades and 3 years of monthly security updates. This means that in 2024 when Google ships Android 14 you still get the lates and greatest version of Android for free! - Standard access to Google-play store like any normal Android device. - Incredibly FAST tablet. No waiting at all when launching apps. - Solid construction on a tablet that evidently is built to last. - Simple no surprise, no 'special launcher' or any other gimmicks that vendors like Samsung, Amazon and others use. This is real, plain vanilla, standard Android. - With monthly security updates guaranteed until 2025. I got also the case, because it makes it easier to hold or leave standing on a desk while you watch it. The European Union is considering a law that all phones and tablets should have 5 years support, but this law may take a year or two to pass. So far the best you can get from a vendor is what you get from this Nokia T10, or with a stock Google Pixel phone or tablet. Even Apple makes all their devices obsolete in three years or less. So, until the law changes (maybe in 2025) deals like free Android 12, with 2 years of OS upgrades and 3 years of monthly security updates is about the best we can get. 100% Android. ... show more

Holding Up Well Despite Lack Of Operating System Updates
Style: Nokia T10
I've had the tablet for a while & despite not receiving any Operating System updates, it is still working well. No glitches, no technical issues. I've dropped the tablet many times & can also attest to its durability. The screen resolution & brightness are good, & it is fast enough. I would recommend this tablet for anyone who wants a better than OK device. It was worth the price. ... show more

Get something else
Style: Nokia T10
Update: 30 Aug. The last update came through but now I am getting a "Your device is corrupted and cannot be trusted" error. It is best to avoid this tablet as it has too many issues to be considered useful. This is a great tablet for basic media consumption. It plays YouTube, streams videos/twitch and can handle most games. The OS doesn't have much bloat and is fairly close to vanilla Android. The screen might not be the best but you will not notice the lower resolution until something with a lot of detail is shown. But it has it's advantages. The battery life is pretty good. I've been getting around a day's worth of battery life from a full charge. Speaking of, this battery does take a bit longer than you would expect to charge. Close to 2 hours from 30% to 100%. All that is expected at this price point. I had to take a star off due to the issues with updates. Nokia's website says the security patch is up to July 2023 (today is August 29th). I was stuck on Feb 2023 patch for a few days. I did a few factory resets to get it to update and it finally went through. I shouldn't have to put that much effort into a 6 month old OTA update. I am on the June 2023 patch now so not quit up to date but this has the Android 13 update so I'm good for now. ... show more

Fantastic for the price
Style: Nokia T10
I'm a big iPad user, but like to keep an Android around because I can load a bunch of stuff on a SD card. I've always bought Samsung or Lenovo, and was a bit hesitant to buy anything else. Boy am I glad I did! Every Android I've ever owned took forever to boot up, and most were so slow! I put up with it because I could get a crap-load of movies and TV shows on the SD card without paying iPad prices. But this Nokia blows me away, it boots as fast as my current iPad and iPad Mini, and runs my apps, movies and games flawlessly and quick. I'm seriously considering buying the T20 and selling my iPads. I could not be happier with this Nokia, the screen is bright, it's responsive, the battery indeed does lastall day with heavy use, and it fits great in one hand. ... show more

Great 8 inch Android - Much better than Samsung A7 LTE or Lenovo M8
Style: Nokia T10
I like an 8 inch tablet much better than the larger tablets that have 10 - 12 inch screens because they are more portable. I use it to read books, emails, the Wall Street Journal and for social media. It's lighter than either of the comparable Samsung or Lenovo tablets, comes with 64GB of memory (an important distinction) and is faster. The 64GB of memory is important because you have to load the operating system and all of the applications you choose to install into this memory. 32GB of memory is a not quite enough. I added a 256GB micro sd card and configured my Kindle, Nook, and Netflix to download to the SD card (which saves memory). Amazon Prime doesn't offer the option of saving videos on the SD card. I like to get a case and matte screen protectors for my smaller devices. The matte screen protector reduces glare and allows me to read in sunlight. That was readily available on Amazon. A case is available, but it will take about two weeks to get it. Bottom line ... This device isn't as popular as some others (IMHOP - It should be) so there is less choice in accessories and you may need to wait for them. I read some complaints on other reviews that I don't think are accurate: 1. It's heavy: I don't find it to be heavy and in fact is lighter than the two leading tablets in this space. 2. Auto-Rotate doesn't work: This is an Android setting which you need check. It's under the Display section in Settings or just search for it. 3. It's slow. For my uses, it's fast enough. I'm not trying to use it as an RC controller though. 4. It takes a long time to boot/reboot. It does, but not any longer than comparable Android tablets. For some reason the boot has two phases: Android and Device Manufacturer. You can't do anything about the Android phase of the boot cycle. The Nokia portion boot cycle is relatively quick. This is a great tablet and is underrated!! ... show more

Fantastic!!
Style: Nokia T10
I don't get the negative reviews. This little tablet works great! Google ready and able to run all my apps perfectly (as I type this on the device). YouTube TV and Disney plus streams perfectly. Even my nest cameras stream fine! Emai, Google meet video -no problem. Obviously this might depend on your wifi quality. I use high speed ATT fiber. The size is perfect and I can use on the go with a hotspot as well. Typing is responsive. Three years of guaranteed updates and security is awesome. I personally highly recommend this tablet if you're looking for a great 8" tablet for home and on the go for a very reasonable price. ... show more

Slow and clunky
Style: Nokia T10
I've had worse experiences with Android tablets, absolutely, but that doesn't mean this is a particularly good one. It's marginally acceptable as a media device. I wouldn't trust it with anything beyond the basics. The Nokia launcher is annoying - I'd prefer stock Android - but it's no worse than, say, Lenovo's. Its screen is fine. The build quality is fine. Is it worth the money? Yeah, probably. Just so long as you don't expect too much out of it. ... show more
