  • Jogger here reviewing as a Bluetooth MP3 player
Color: Blue
It's sad to say but nobody can make a reliable MP3 player under $50 anymore. I've tried about a dozen here on Amazon and they're all just garbage. So I go back to the old standby, Nokia. Nokia knows how to get it done, to make a reliable MP3 player that is lightweight and has a solid Bluetooth connection that never drops, and has a randomizer that doesn't play the same songs over and over again in a 2000 song library. You may dismiss this as being a simple dumb phone, but for a long-term jogger this was a Godsend. Thank you Nokia for still making an MP3 player that works like an MP3 player should. Buttons are solid, phone is very lightweight and perfect for jogging, and sound quality is excellent. Someday I might even use it as a phone. I've also had the Nokia 6300 and I prefer this one for better Bluetooth connection and being lightweight. Update. Phone is still great, however randomizer is not. After a while you realize you are listening to the same 100 songs out of 1000. The only way to get to other songs is choose a different starting track from the list of 1000, otherwise you just end up ransoming to the same 100 songs. Disappointed. ... show more

  • I Didn't Choose the Dumbphone Life; the Dumbphone Life Chose Me
Color: Blue
I've been an avid dumbphone user for a very long time and this is by far the worst dumbphone I've ever had. After three years, my phone was starting to reach the end of its life so I got this. The price is good, but the phone is not. I want a phone that can text and call. That's it. This phone comes with about a bunch of apps that I'll never use, and the worst part is that YOU CAN'T UNINSTALL THEM. I don't want Facebook on my phone. It comes with FOUR different games, again, that cannot be uninstalled. Oh, and it comes with a dictionary app that literally nobody asked for. You can't download pictures to save as wallpapers so you've got to either stick with the pre-loaded wallpaper or use the camera which takes pictures that are only marginally better than the pictures my toaster takes. But, hey, that'll make me feel young again. I can't figure out how to make the notification icons up top go away. It's annoying to have to unlock by pressing the star button every time. I haven't found a way to adjust the font size. There's no buttons on the side so you have to go in to the settings and manually turn the volume down. Getting this phone to work is by no means intuitive. In fact, my husband and I (we're both avid dumbphone users) are both having to research how to use this phone. It's not like we're elderly either. He's 29 and I'm 27. We've talked about getting rid of our cell phones and just using a landline. It's looking like we might just do that soon since you can't find a dumbphone anymore. EDIT 12/15/2023 This phone is the absolute WORST. My husband and I have both had problems making and receiving calls (he has this phone too). Not only that, but the time stamps on my texts are all goofed up. If I send someone a text at 9:05 their response will come in with a time stamp that's an hour earlier which goofs up the order of the conversations and makes it difficult to follow. After months of this, I can't take it anymore. I'm getting a new phone. My last dumbphone lasted two years. This one has barely made it six months if that. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. ... show more

  • The Age-Old Nokia
Color: Blue
This phone transports me back to the days when smartphones were stuffs of fantasy. This one is the same old nice, small-sized, no-nonsense phone which can be used for normal phone calls. No demands, no complaints, no fuss. All you have to do is to just insert a nano-SIM card, go through the initial but compulsory settings and there you have the phone ready for use. I have been using it with my AT&T connection and so far, it hasn't given me any trouble --- which is exactly what I expected of it. Locking the screen is a bit tricky but once you have figured it out, you will just fall in love with the phone --- it's so palm-friendly and doesn't make you to glue to its screen, as you would have probably experienced with any smartphone. You may not be able to install social media apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok or YouTube on it, but the phone comes preloaded with Facebook and its own browser. The battery life is just awesome --- far, far better than those of to-day's smartphones. The battery retains the juice for almost 5 days on the trot, even if you are using it on a regular basis, once it has been charged up to its max capacity. The phone itself is as sturdy as Nokia phones used to be before smartphones took over. To be honest, this little piece of a beauty has gotten an uncanny resemblance with the first ever Nokia phone I had! ... show more
