Too hard. They caused neck discomfort

  • Durability: Mattress lasted about 2 years for comfortable use
Size: King Style: Mattress + Pillow(s)
We purchased our Turn & Neeedle king sized original 10" mattress in June of 2018. So we've had it for about 2 years. For those of you wanting longer term reviews, here's one for you. Back in 2018, we were replacing our 22yr old traditional mattress/box springs queen mattress. To be fair, after about 10 years, our old mattress really needed to be replaced. We squeezed an extra 12 years by using a 3" memory foam topper. Really anything would have been better than a 22yr old mattress; we were getting back aches from the old mattress. We did lots of research and went to mattress stores to try out mattresses. For us, a 10" mattress was the minimum. An 8" mattress just wasn't comfortable. 6" mattresses were miserably uncomfortable. We strongly considered the more expensive mattresses. I was put off by some negative reviews of the higher end mattresses. And, after sleeping on a Tuft and Needle mattress at a hotel on vacation, we decided to buy the cheaper Tuft and Needle mattress for $750. Ordering, shipping, delivery all went smoothly. We bought a new platform base since we were upsizing, and we put a solid plywood board for support under the new mattress. The mattress is very firm, which is what we wanted. I'd say about a 9/10 on the firmness scale. It isn't as hot as a memory foam mattress. We really liked it for the last two years. Daily back pain, gone for about the last 2 years. As an additional contributing factor in the demise of the mattress, our mattress probably got a little more use than average because we have 80-90lb dogs that also like to sleep on the bed whenever possible. Spoiled dogs, I know. They discovered that humans had sofas and mattresses, and they really consider it a punishment to sleep on the floor. Anyway, after two years, we've started getting back aches again like we did when our old mattress needed to be replaced. Our mattress does have indentations where we sleep. A mattress salesman told me this happens, called a "crown," to all king mattresses. The mattress definitely is not as comfortable at 2 years as when it was new. I really hoped for 5-10 years from this mattress. I don't think it is going to make it, though. We may try a memory foam topper to get a few more years out of this mattress. Overall, I'd consider another Tuft & Needle 10" mattress because it was so comfortable when new. However, if we have to replace every two years...I'm not so sure that's as good a value as hoped. Over 10 years, we'd spend approximately $3750 buying Tuft & Needle and replacing every two years. However, comfort and not waking up with back pain are high priorities. The durability factor is something to consider when purchasing this mattress. ... show more

This matters is comfortably supportive...t stars. It is HOT! Most mornings my sheets are damp to downright wet because I get too hot which was never an issue with the old innerspring mattresses...2 stars

This mattress is fine for a bit but then sags. The only place I can sleep on it are on the edges. Will throw away. Vary dissatisfied.
