This pump is well made and I purchased because I own other NOCO products. Quick Shrader valve connector is nice. The screen is bright and can be read in sunshine better than my last failed pump (another brand). That one failed to charge with USB.

    • 4/5 Stars: Great Compact Emergency Inflator With One Minor Flaw
I recently tested the NOCO Genius AIR5 portable air compressor, and it is a solid addition to any vehicle's safety kit. I started with the unit charged to 100% and used it to top off four tires from 34 PSI to 36 PSI. It inflated the tires quickly and successfully completed the job, though the battery was completely depleted by the end. Recharging the unit back to 100% took about 1.5 hours. Based on this performance, I am confident this inflator will work great in a roadside emergency, even if you need to fill a completely flat tire. The unit is impressively compact and high-quality. It tucks away easily in a trunk or glovebox without taking up valuable space. However, there are two drawbacks to keep in mind. First, there is no alternative power source, so if the battery is dead, you cannot plug it into the car's 12V outlet to use it immediately. Second, the air hose is too short. Unless your tire's valve stem is perfectly positioned at the bottom of the wheel, the short cord forces you to hold the unit while it pumps. The compressor gets quite hot during operation, and moving your car to rotate the tire is not always possible in an emergency. Overall, I highly recommend this unit for peace of mind on the road. I deducted one star solely for the short air hose, but it is definitely not a deal-breaker.     • Takes its time but gets the PSI right every time!
The NOCO Air AL5 has made my routine tire maintenance effortless. While I have a full sized air compressor, the AL5 eliminates the hassle of dragging out heavy hoses, coiling them back up, or fumbling with separate pressure gauges. I just attach it to the tire and let the auto-stop feature do the work. Just a minor downside is that tiny thing was a louder than I expected, and fill up time is a lot slower compared to a typical compressor, but that is a small price to pay for the portability. Since it shuts off automatically, the slower speed isn't a big deal because you can just stand back and do something else while it runs. I bought this unit and received it 04/12 and it was faulty right off the bat. It was having issues reaching the desired psi if my tires were within 2~3 psi of set range. I mainly bought this unit mainly to top off my tires. I tried on 3 different vehicles to and issue remained. NOCO customer service was great as far as communication goes. Even though I only owned the unit for 2~3 days and needed a warranty the shipping is not covered, but they do cover the return shipping. Unfortunately I sent everything back as if it were brand new from Amazon and only received the unit back without any of the extra accessories like booklet, bag, quick connect, and usb-c cable. My fault for not seeing this in the email. But the kicker is I received a USED unit back with a different serial # that had scratches and scuffs on it. I figured it was a factory refurbish it would still be for the most part indistinguishable from new. Who knows how many hours maybe on the pump. But purchasing a brand new item and receiving a used one back from warranty doesn't sit right with me and I would think NOCO would know better than to do something like this. Amazon has agreed to take the unit back even though I'm 1 day outside the return window from receiving the unit back this morning. I didn't give them 1 star since their customer service communication was good and I like the design of the unit. Updating to 1 star. The used unit still has the same faults. So I wasted time and shipping $ to get a used unit back and loss of all my accessories. ... show more

I love this inflator! I used on riding mower. I enter the desired tire pressure, the end screws on to the valve stem so there is no fumbling with connections, and it stops automatically when the pressure is reached. I inflated multiple tires and the battery was still fully charged. Very handy.
