I received my new high-density rug today in the tie-dyed dark gray color, and my first impression is positive! The color looks great and adds a cozy, modern touch to the room. While I will note that there isn't a ton of padding as the description might imply, it is definitely warm, keeping my feet away from the cold floor, which is a big plus. The 1.6" plush material feels very soft to the touch. The upgraded non-slip backing seems to work well, as it's staying firmly put even in a high-traffic area. I was also happy to see that the edges are tightly woven, so I'm not worried about shedding with my pets around. I bought this carpet as an accent to my grandson's room. It's not soft and cushy but it is soft and Shaggy you can kind of see through to the bottom weave that the fiber is attached to but for the price you spend you cannot beat this purchase. It looks great the functionality was perfect for what I was going for. It lays completely flat and the color is exactly as described matched my curtains and comforter perfectly I haven't watched it yet or vacuumed it yet but I can tell you this I can see it lasting at least a year and for the cost who cares if I had to buy another one it's a great value for your money ... show more

I chose this silly guy for my runty little apartment hallway because his colors *clashed* so hilariously. He's adorable! I even gave him a nickname as a joke, but haha, let's just say it's like calling a really thin guy "Chunky". 24 hours ago I pulled him out of his dense vac-pack (boy they compress these rugs HARD for easy shipping) and checked him over. Mild sweetish chemical smell, nothing unpleasant to me. I know other folks have different sensitivities. I am considering hanging this guy on my landing/front door balcony rail overnight anyhow just for kicks. Edge stitching is all right, the edging itself seems to be in good order and the no-slip texturing on the bottom is adequate to its task. I have heavy duty synthetic flooring with a non-polished finish, so the no-slip works better than it might on a hardwood or polished surface. His interior padding layer has not decompressed completely just yet, so for now, part of the rug feels quite thin, in a strip about 8 inches wide along one long side. There is also somewhat of a "bubble" where one of the outer folds of the carpet were while it was compressed. I think these minor hiccups will work themselves out in a week or so as I continue to tread on him, but as I noted above they seriously do vacuum-compress these rugs REALLY REALLY HARD for shipping. If they do not, I might just pop him into the dryer on low with a few towels to keep him company, and see what happens. I expect to clear a goodish bit of fluff out of the dryer filter in that case. The other 3/4ths of the rug's interior padding has decompressed properly, and it feels just right. At full decompression the layer feels like it's about 1/8 inch thick, which is perfectly okay in my books. INTERESTINGLY ENOUGH, one detail to watch carefully for -- since the nap of these "new-fashioned" rugs is constructed in an entirely different way, unlike any other rug I've ever experienced -- it actually feels just the mildest bit *slippery*, as if I were treading on an actual animal pelt that had extremely silky smooth fur. So...I'm pretty satisfied for now with my new friend :D One star off for the absolutely mad shipping compression, and for no other thing. To be blunt - but to remain as fair as possible, I have to say that *folding* rugs for shipping is certainly efficient, since I do understand the necessities, and no shipping mode is flawless, for we are human -- but *rolled* rugs do tend to resolve themselves better for customers in the long run. ... show more

I love this rug so much that I bought it twice. The 1st picture attached is the [2nd] rug straight out of the package. It comes compressed, but is truly soft straight out of the package, and fluffy and beautiful within 48 hrs. I ordered the same size, but as you can see from the 2nd picture (w/kids on it), the original one I ordered is smaller than the newer one. (Larger rug. Same price? A plus!!!) Why did I have to buy another you ask? Because I washed the rug in a washing machine, as "advertised" in the instructions. It was washed in a commercial machine (because my home washer was too small) on cold and a gentle cycle. It STILL messed up the carpet's lining. The lining broke apart and the rug was never the same again. ANNNND it lost its amazing softness. :'( Your experience may be different, but I offer a word of caution and say simply spot clean the rug when necessary and it will stay amazingly beautiful, fluffy, and soft. ... show more

When it first came it looked smaller.tha. what i ordered so I measured it since I ordered 2 to fill the area. The size was slightly off but nothing significant. Thw color however was terrible. It lacked vibrancy at all, it looked dull and like the color had faded already. I only opened one because after it inflated and I saw it in various lights, I knew i couldn't make it work and they would have to go back. So I returned them foe a color that should be safer. However it does feel soft to rhw touch. It is shaggy and feels loke a decent padding underneath but the color is why it has to go back. ... show more

This rug is so soft and fluffy. Was looking for something comfortable to go by my bed. The way my room is set up I have 2 doors that open unto this space. My prior rug was thick but the door sometimes would not open. This one fits perfectly and when I wake up feels amazing on my feet.

This is very soft. Perfect size for my bedroom. Love to walk on it. It's not a thick rug, but I didn't expect it to be. It keeps my feet warm. I don't slide around on it in my socks and It doesn't slip around itself. My robot vacuum runs over it easily. Looks good. Love it!
