It's not soft and cushy but it is soft and Shaggy you can kind of see through to the bottom weave that the fiber is attached to but for the price you spend you cannot beat this purchase. It looks great the functionality was perfect for what I was going for. It is not a thick heavy rug. It does feel very soft silky especially on bare feet. I haven't had to clean it yet. It feels like it will give a hardware floor some warmth in the winter months. We will see. It is in a bedroom. 8x10

After having this rug for several weeks, I have to admit that I rated this rug too soon! In honesty, I would have given the rug only 1.5 rating. The reasons are as follows: 1) It's cheeply made 2) It has been shedding 3) It is a safety issue bc the "non-slip" underside actually slides all over my wooden floor. 4) The underside looks like a cushy but is barely there. There is one somewhat decent aspect, my dog loved it and it is now her resting spot. I bought this rug for my bedside, but after slipping on it one night on the way to the bathroom, I removed it and threw it in the corner...where it still lives! Honestly, I wish I had never bought this "rug". I will give it one
