We are like the princess and the pea, only instead of an uncomfortable lump under the bed, we have found that one bed frame after another makes too much noise while, um, in use. We have tried different styles and brands, sometimes thinking we finally got a quiet one only to have it start squeaking after a bit. Finally, a friend gave us a giant wooden bed frame, but it needed a proper box frame for under our bendy modern foam mattress, so we bought this. My partner hurt his back putting this thing together, so that's why I gave it two stars on that aspect.     • A bear to put together-but okay with a big strong guy

It took me almost 2 hours to put this together. I am an older woman. I have put together numerous metal frames but this one was extremely hard to get the holes to line up for the screws After about an hour I ended up disregarding the instructions and putting the corners on first That worked better but not good. I have another unfortunately to put together tomorrow. Update. My son and his wife came up and helped me put together the second frame. It went together is about 20 minutes but he is very strong. I advise anyone getting one of these to have two people one of whom is extremely strong Get a big strong guy to help you. ... show more

I don't think they were being entirely dishonest when they said "20 minutes". If everything aligns just right, it "could" be very fast! You just might want to manage your expectations going into this. Also, brush up on your swear words; you'll probably go through your favorites before you're done. Unless you're very creative. Let's start with the positives (and there are several). It's extremely sturdy and very quiet (no squeaks or rattles) and the 7" low-profile height is great. Now, my compliments to anyone that actually assembled this thing in 20 minutes. It took me and my wife TWO (2) HOURS of struggling and cussing to get this thing assembled.
