Vague instructions. Here's how you use it

I have trained many dogs and the current dog I have is a tough one. He is an adopted 1 year old shelter dog and and I had tried clickers and sonic training devices that only made him bark and disobey further. I decided to try this humane vibration collar. I've read some of the comments here and I don't know if people understand that you have to pair the remote and collar. Also, the collar must be charged magnetically with the included (unique) charger and the remote needs also to be charged with the included USB-C charger. Charge for 2 hours when you first get it. The instructions recommend to charge frequently although it will last a while without charging a lot. There is an on/off button on the collar make sure you turn it on when in use and turn it off when not in use. You can test the collar in your hand for vibration levels after they're paired and both are charged/turned on. I've started at number one on the remote and it gets his attention quickly. I also like the fact that you can lock the remote so it doesn't accidentally go off. When you first use it you might notice the dog will look around wondering where the vibration came from. Make sure to verbally command as you hit the button once on the remote so they understand what the vibration or beep means. When they obey give them a treat immediately. The beep is loud and very close to their ears so I don't like it as much as I like using vibration. An example would be, when he's jumping up I will tell him down and sit and if he doesn't comply I hit the vibration once and as I tap the button (I do not hold down as it continues the vibration) I will continue telling him down and sit and he usually obeys immediately after the vibration, so I quicky give him a treat. This particular dog has not responded well to other training tools but he also came out of the shelter medicated as most dogs do these days on traz/gaba and it makes hard for them to focus according to a trainer I know and my veterinarian. The meds are slowly being tapered and the collar is being used. I wouldn't even think of getting a shock collar as they cause injury and pain. Vibration collars are proving just as effective without the pain. He is minding better everyday and now when I put the collar on or he sees the remote he well often follow a command without a vibration at all. It has been a fast and effective training tool. I highly recommend this training aid if used properly I believe it would work with most dogs. Don't give up! Lots of love, patience and treats and you will have a different dog in 6 months if you commit to training them.

Excellent Dog Training Collar without the Shock!

This vibrating dog collar is truly amazing! My family and I recently rescued a dog from the shelter, and while he's incredibly smart and has an awesome personality, he did have some bad habits—especially when it came to table manners. During mealtime, he would constantly jump on our laps or the table trying to get food. We tried telling him "off" or gently pushing him away, but nothing seemed to work. That's when a friend mentioned e-collars, and after doing some research, I found this vibrating collar. It’s been a game changer for us! Unlike traditional e-collars that use shocks, this collar uses vibrations to gently correct unwanted behavior, which is exactly what we were looking for. It helps reinforce that certain behaviors won’t be tolerated, but without causing harm to our dog. Buckled up cause this is a long one .. I recently got a dog who is glorious but needed training .. he’s a Belgian Sheppard and he’s a big boy and while he learns very quickly he’s in that puppy phase where he’s exploring everything and curious about everything and pushing boundaries . Generally speaking he’s super well behaved but he’s big enough to reach the top of the kitchen counter and if I leave a bag of treats there he’s running off with it . He also likes to chew on boxes and rugs ( insert shrug emoji ) . In short , he’s a puppy . I found a trainer who came highly recommended by a neighbour who has a Shepard as well .. my boy is a Groenendael . This gentleman took him for 2 weeks and used an electric collar on him … when my boy came back everything I taught him and all the progress we’d made together was for the most part gone. Also when I wasn’t using the collar on him he would act out and get super hyper and rambunctious ( way more so than before ) . In order to ease him out of the collar that also had a shock option I tried this collar . It made zero difference and just annoyed him . If you’re thinking of using a collar or your puppy this is not the one . In fact based on what I’ve seen I do not recommend using them at all . My neighbour has a dog that’s 1 year old and he swears by the collar . But I’ve noticed that when he lets her loose in the building she goes wild until she sees him holding the collar . It breaks my heart everytime I see it because she was a great dog before he started using it and now she’s super subdued when it’s on . She was never super crazy but she was a puppy doing what puppies do and getting excited ( in a normal and not too aggressive way ) as all puppies do until they grow out of that phase . Soooo .. if you’ve made it this far .. while I personally will never use one of these again I do understand that for some people this method works but I don’t think it’s fair to the dog . Learn your puppies personality and find a good trainer or look up videos online ( there are some great ones out there ) . And if you’re not prepared to have a dog that is going to act like the puppy they are when they’re young , do yourself and the dog a favour and just don’t get a puppy .

Good Training Tool

We bought this collar after trying and not liking an auto bark correction collar. We didn't like that we couldn't trigger the previous collar ourselves, and that it was misfiring a lot. We're quite happy with this new collar. It comes with a remote to trigger, battery life lasts a long time, and it's easy to use and understand. While the collar doesn't automatically fix our dog's window aggression, it's a helpful tool to pair with her training to snap her out of her focus, readjust and reward. We're happy to have found a shock free version. My one complaint is after a few uses, when I turn the collar on and it beeps to confirm, it will beep a second time loudly about 10 seconds later. I had to hold off placing it on our dog until it does that because it startled her a few times for no reason.

Game Changer!

This vibrating remote collar has worked wonders for some concerning behaviors our 20 lb. Boston Terrier has developed. Knock on our door, stray cat, squirrel or floating plastic bag in back field would send our dog into a frenzy thus attacking our other Boston! There were times when these fights became brutal. We now became a household with all the blinds shut and signs on our door stating DO NOT KNOCK. We sought obedience training with no luck (kicked out)! We often refer to our Boston as a "light switch"! I searched out for another form of training without using a shock mode! Happiness! Game changer!!!! I found this collar!! It's lightweight, no prongs, various settings with 3 modes and absolutely no shock! We have found that the simple sound beep mode suits us best although we have used the vibrate mode once or twice! Our blood pressure is now lower, we are now at peace. Truly is a game changer! That remote never leaves our side (that's important)! Also note that this device has remarkable charging quality, stays charged for MANY days! Can't say enough good things about this product. Excellent!

This says it will fit all dogs, and it definitely will not. My dog is 35lb and the collar is the tightest it goes and it is still a bit loose. After cutting the excess strap it frayed pretty bad so I took a flame to it and it frayed again. I have not had to charge this yet, the rechargeable battery lasts pretty long. The collar is a good price for what it is it just doesn’t work for my dog. My dog still barks and still doesn’t listen, it has no effect on her. It seems like a safe option for dogs who listen. The vibration modes are gentle, even on the highest setting it’s not uncomfortable on the hand.

No prong, no shock

My dog was trained on the type of collar that has prongs. I have always felt strongly that they are terrible and cruel, but was at the end of my rope with him. Paradoxically, the collar was the only way I could keep him from running out the door when it opened (if I wasn't home-he wants to find me). Although that style collar was also only set to vibrate, the prongs seemed uncomfortable at best even when the collar was loose. So I did a search for no shock, no prong collar and found this one. It is exactly that. The collar will vibrate or beep when you press the button; it's pretty easy to use but do read the instructions. The only negatives are the beeeeep when you turn the collar on (I always cough when I do it so it doesn't wig my pup out), and the proprietary plug for the collar. If I were to lose the cord there would be no using any other type charger for it. But the collar itself is terrific. The collar is adjustable -it was quite a bit larger than my 17" medium 30lb dog's neck but adjusts down. And it only took vibrating it once when I said NO to understand that when he wears it, if I say no, he won't run away/bark. I really can't emphasize enough-this is NOT a shock collar. It is NOT a prong collar. It vibrates like when you put your cell phone ringer on "vibrate" or makes a beeeeep, whichever you set it to. I also don't like bark collars-if you think about it, when ANY dog barks, your dog's collar will be triggered. How confusing would that be for a dog? With this collar, if your dog barks, you press the beeeep or the vibrate, and the dog knows, hmmmm barking makes that icky noise on my neck, or that funny vibration. So a lot of words here, and I don't write reviews much on Amazon but 1) I really do mean all the things I said about his being a kind way to encourage your dog to listen/not bark and 2) they did ask me to a review. I am very happy with the collar and it being exactly what I'd hoped. And it shipped very quickly.
