Tl;dr: Looks attractive, provided decent privacy, and really does help keep the house cooler. Review: I'm a Florida resident, so heat is inevitable. And miserable. And makes a 69⁰F house feel more like an 80⁰F. In comes this product, and things have changed my boys and girls. The material isn't thick, but it does have a textured feel to the white parts, which I honestly really like. If you add a decent amount of water and use a handheld squeegee tool the application is quick and easy. I did the cut while applying method, but for a more precise application you can measure and cut before adhering which will end up with much better results. But in my case, the quick and easy apply then cut worked just fine. Because let's be honest, if someone is coming into my house to critique the edges of my window film then there are much bigger problems than the window film... 😅 As for the UV protection, I applied to my slider and immediately felt a difference. I applied to my front windows, my kitchen window, and I'm working on applying to my bedroom windows. Now I can keep my air conditioner at 74/75⁰F and it's comfortable, not like sweating bullets previously when it was 69⁰F. Very classy look to make a sliding glass door visible to our dogs. My only small issue is that I could not get rid of all the bubbly look under neath. It is not visible from afar, but standing next to it, you can see the bubbles. I did not use a squeegee as recommended ...didn't want to buy one. I found this to be a durable vinyl film that adheres well and has just the right balance of design elements for a quality window covering. After a month, the film still looks great and shows no separation in any part of the film. As for the reviewers who complained about detached parts, I suggest a closer look at the slip being used and also the preparation. This film was applied to my sliding glass doors separating living room from enclosed back porch. I was diligent about cleaning the glass thoroughly--ammonia-based cleaner and scrubby sponge and a good squeegee, followed by a water wipe/squeegee. The glass must be very clean, free of any debris and/or cleaning solution. Doing that gave me a clean base for applying the film. This is just basic for any film preparation. For my slip, I used a clean repurposed spray bottle (24 fl oz) filled with the following ingredients: Filtered water, a tablespoon of baby shampoo, a half-teaspoon of dish detergent, and a quarter-teaspoon of baking soda. Shaken well, also allowing the baking soda to dissolve thoroughly. Then the application (thick towel at the bottom to catch/hold fluid): Generous spray of slip on the glass, separate the film, more spraying of slip, apply the film, spray the film generously and slide it all into place; use squeegee to remove slip and bubbles, using a credit card to remove any remaining fluid from the edges and corners. Since this film has distinct ridges, extra care is needed to be sure that all bubbles are removed to the sides and fully eliminated. When fully dry, the only other step might be a wipe down with water and a damp sponge. Then just enjoy. ... show more

Make sure you schedule your time so you do not have to hurry as you will want to use care in measuring and calculating where you will want to cut, & take time to do it even & straight as you can. Leave space on the edge for the liquid to be squeezed out, don’t get on or too close to the frame, it won’t look good and may not stay adhered through various temperatures.
