If you want this hood and filter, you know why you need it. They work well and integrate nicely into the camera. It looks like it should have come with it almost. However, there are a few issues I have found that have caused me to return, replace and return again. The hood is easy to get on and off with a nice press fit and rubber gasket. Because it does not screw on it can easily get out of alignment and can pull off the camera when you are trying to just remove the lens cap. the lens cap fits in a similar way. Press fit with rubber gasket. I took this on a trip the day I got it and while it was a warm weekend, nothing extreme. I found the rubber gasket on the cap to be deteriorating and the adhesive from it basically glued the lens cap to the hood. The bigger issue for me is the UV filter. A few things, it is ONLY internally threaded so only the included lens hood will work. because of this, you also cannot use the fuji adapter ring. This is the bigger issue. While the UV filter is basically integrated to an adapter, it is too close to the lens and EVERY TIME I try to take a landscape or infinity distance photo I get an error on the camera. Once you see a red FOCUS ERROR! you have to turn the camera off and back on again and your lens body has to pull back from the filter. The error is caused my the body hitting the filter and jamming it in place. At first I thought it was a defect in my x100vi, but it seems like the x100vi focus body moves slightly further out and it is a VERY common occurrence with this set to cause this. I do not want to damage my already hard to find camera and found this very frustrating. Ultimately returning the replacement (that I originally got for the lens cap issue) in order to get a true ring adapter to give me the right spacing for the filters and a lens hood.

How the camera looks like with the NiSi NC UV Adapter Hood Kit for Fujifilm X100 Series (Silver) — Lens Protection Filter on my Fuji X100F and one of the many shots I took with the filter on. I got this kit for two reasons: It really adds to the aesthetics of the camera; and secondly, for weather sealing and protection of my silver copy lens. This works perfect and looks super aesthetic. Only complaint is that it can freely rotate, so if you put it on slightly crooked, it stays that way. It would be amazing if it locked in only when it fit perfectly square.

This is beautifully made and a great idea. However, I cannot believe that it was even tested by NiSi on either the X100V or VI. I tried it on both, and at infinity focus the lens hits the front element and gives a focus error. I am very disappointed because it would be great to keep this on the camera and have the ability to screw my 49mm CPL filter on the front, but it has to go back. Edit: NiSi contacted me and indicated that they are aware of the problem and expect to review new units that address the issues in about 2 weeks. Good to know.

The idea of having an easy pop on square hood seems great at first, but in reality the hood comes off way too easily for my peace of mind. Also, the silver color of the filter and hood is a shade darker than the silver of the x100vi, making it seem a little mismatched and out of place.
