I would like to start by saying that the product arrived in a timely manner. There are no scratches or cosmetic damage at all. It appears to be a genuine wii remote but I don't work for Nintendo so I can't say for sure. There was no corrosion like the other reviews and it would be near impossible to tell that this wii remote isn't brand new. Perhaps I just got lucky? The reason for 4 stars is the buttons. The buttons are not very sensitive. Often times I have to press the A button a second time because I didn't hit the button hard enough, I am used to the controllers that came with the wii and those buttons are very sensitive. Buttons are everything on a controller so not having sensitive buttons knocked a star off. It's also important to add that the wrist strap DID come with the controller, however it is not an official Nintendo strap. It is an aftermarket strap because it doesn't feel high quality and it's missing the wii and Nintendo logos. That being said everything works as it should. The motion tracking is on point and I haven't had any issues. If it breaks too soon (I am very gentle on my controllers) I will come back here and complain. Otherwise this review is up to date and the wii remote has served me well.

Seems to work just as well as the original. HOWEVER I almost returned it because it wouldn't sync. The factory ones sync by just pushing the button in the battery area but you have to ALSO push the red button under the SD card storage cover for non-factory remotes.

I received two of these controllers, and both were defective. The first controller I received appeared to be in Good to Very Good cosmetic condition, but it was missing its wrist strap (honestly a minor issue). After installing fresh batteries it powered on during front button presses; however, the Sync button was INOP, thus the controller was useless. The second controller was a replacement to the first sent by Amazon, and took 6 days to arrive. Its cosmetic condition was more along the lines of just Good, and this one did have its wrist strap included. I did notice, however, that it had minor corrosion in its battery compartment, which is an immediate fail in my book for a "Renewed" and supposedly "Excellent condition" item. Either way, this controller failed to power on at all after battery install, regardless of which buttons were pressed. Clearly these controllers are not inspected by anyone for proper functionality or general condition, and are a waste of time for anyone searching for even a remotely semi-decent quality OEM controller. The only positive going for them is if you purchase them via Prime, that way you can at least return the pieces of junk relatively hassle free! Definitely not as advertised nor worth your time... do yourself a favor and stay far away from these things!

Overall a pretty good quality device. I didn’t notice any issues other than a different back than typical, which is the only reason I would remove a star. For some, the mismatch look might be a dealbreaker but the truth is a lot of wii remotes have discolored battery backs and usually get replaced with these 3rd party one at repair shops and resellers all the time. At first I had concerns about how batteries would fit, especially since wii remotes are already prone to leakage, but it tests fine so far. The remote plus function and all the buttons work fine. Came with a strap, but no rubber case but luckily had a few lying around. Also came with a 90 day warranty if anything goes wrong.

I originally bought the NC. I then bought the Lyyes. I then bought this one (Nintendo brand [Renewed/Refurbished]). The first two couldn't charge past 75% and this one reads 100% charged with the same battery packs. This one also includes built in Wii MotionPlus which is very nice. Altogether, Nintendo is the right brand for a Wii remote. The charging station I purchased is the "Upgraded Wii Remote Battery Charger Station, Covanm 4 Port Wii Controller Rechargeable Battery Pack with 4 Rechargeable Batteries for Wii."
