I was a little scared to give this a try after seeing reviews of people getting stitches and injuries. I decided to give it a try anyway since I have come to learn that most negative reviews are due to user error rather than the product itself. After a week of use, my assumption was correct. There is a literal warning on the top of the lid that warns you not to take the lid off the blender while the blender is turned on and not to remove the kid until the blades have called me to a complete stop. The lid clearly holds the blades in place so removing the lid will cause the blades to jostle and potentially break through the plastic pitcher and could cause serious injury. If you need to top off or add anything to your recipe for blending, make sure the blades come to a COMPLETE stop and then you can take the lid off and add what you need. Even without the warning, you can clearly see the lid holds the blades in place and common sense would tell you not to remove the lid while blending. This is a powerful blender. So powerful it sounds like a jet is taking off in your kitchen. I have used it every day for smoothies salad dressings and sauces. I have not yet tried making cookie dough or anything thicker but so far I am very satisfied with what I have made so far. If you put the ice in last it will blend a lot more evenly. All-in-all this is a great blender for the price and has played a vital role in creating healthy meal plans to reach our health goals. Read all instructions and warnings and you have yourself a great blender.

This has turned out a terrific buy. My old cuisinart food processor and blender both punked out at the same time. I was thinking I had to make a choice and sacrifice some functions. However, the 55351 has solved all the food processing issues I have used it for. I love the attachment that is specifically to process smoothies. I have one for breadfast most days and they are always smooth and well blended. Most of mine have some form of nut, kale, etc. and it is always processed expediciously and pronto. A little noisy, but I live in a single family home. It blends soups well, chops nuts without a problem, etc. I haven't used it for dough, but I expect that won't be a problem. Also the attachments are easy to clean and don't usually get food stuck under the blades, which are sharp enough to cut up nuts and harder items with ease. The products I put in are almost always incorporated into the smoothie or whatever (cauliflower, fruit, etc.) and yields the product that the word "smoothie" employs. I was looking at some much higher end professional products and saw many complaints in the reviews so decided to check the less expensive Ninja and am more than delighted. It works better than I expected and better than the Cuisinart food processor that just died. I was going to replace both a food processor and blender for both, which had punked out at the same time. I am so glad I bought the one product that works well. Thanks, Ninja!

It's fast, easy to clean, and delivers the kind of power one would expect from it. It has four suction cups on the bottom to help keep it in place while it's demonstrating all its magnificent power however the suction cups are so strong that after two months of moving the machine so the countertop around it can be cleaned, the base completely broke away from the bottom. It's not convenient to release the tiny suction cups with your fingertips every time it needs to be moved, but after what happened to my machine today, I strongly suggest you keep it in mind whenever you need to move the machine.

I make smoothies and milkshakes to bulk and this is my third blender. Others have broken or couldn't quite get the job done for what I wanted. When I tell you, I was blown away by how powerful this thing is.... What took about three 1-minute intervals of blending and then separating the ingredients to get the consistency I wanted takes about 15 seconds with this thing. Very happy with my purchase, and all of the attachments work great. The only thing I wish would be a larger smoothie bottle (because I'm a fatty). BEWARE: Given how powerful this blender really is, if you're the type to make surprise smoothies or salsa for the family early in the morning, this thing is not for you. It sounds like you're vacuuming your counters when it's going. NOTE: If you're looking at which NINJA blender to get, this one is the best for the price and attachments you get.
