  • Ninja microwave, airfryer
Color: Silver
So far this is the best airfryer I've owned. It's easy to clean and works well. The microwave works well, too.

  • There’s a little bit of a learning curve
Color: Silver
First, I believe that Toshiba is the only other company that has combined an air fryer with a microwave, like this Ninja combo. I don’t have a Toshiba to compare this one with, but I can’t image it being any better. Ninja, of course, is a company that consumers have a sense of reliability in, and this Crispi is no exception. Out of the box, it was a bit overwhelming because there’s only three buttons on the front. You’d think that, with the dual ability to microwave and air fry, there’d be more. As it turns out, three buttons really are all you need. I started with something simple that I already knew how to do: microwave leftovers. I put the bowl inside, centered it on the “+” printed on the bottom, and pushed the “microwave” button. The display lit up, telling me to select the amount of time I wanted to heat it for, then gave me the option to adjust the power level (which I always do when heating just about anything in a microwave). I pressed the “power” button and away it went, heating my leftovers. Well, I guess I hadn’t reduced the power level enough because I started hearing the food POP inside. And we all know what that means, right? Food splattered everywhere inside the new microwave! UGH! Luckily, the surfaces inside are smooth and super easy to just wipe clean. Yeah! Next up, I thought I’d try something else that I was already familiar with: air frying. Here’s where a little bit of the learning curve comes in. The air fryer uses a glass dish, with a “crisper” laid in the bottom, to slide up onto a couple of side rails near the top inside the microwave. And the “FusionCrisp” function uses both the microwave (to cook or heat the food), then uses the air fryer function to crisp up the top. What’s really convenient is that you can set both functions to work consecutively without having to go back and manually set the next step. For instance, I had a couple of frozen French bread pizzas in my freezer. I put them in the glass dish with the crisper tray on the bottom and slid the dish onto the top rails. I selected the FusionCrisp function and the front of the unit and it walked me through the settings that I needed. First, I set the time and power level for the microwave to defrost the pizzas. Then it had me set the air fryer time and temp. After that, I just pushed the start button and waited. I watched as the unit went through the functions that I had set and, shortly thereafter, I had piping hot and crispy French bread pizza. No more defrosting in the microwave while the conventional oven heated up, then putting the pizzas in the oven and waiting another 20+ minutes. This was fabulous! I can definitely see myself using this dual functionality for much more than heating pizza! While I can’t yet address any issues with reliability, the Ninja company name gives me confidence in how this unit will perform over the years to come. The only very slight issue I had or noticed was that the noise level was a little bit higher than a regular microwave. But I can certainly put up with it in exchange for what I’ll be getting out of this unit. ... show more

  • Cooking efficiently
Color: Silver
Ninja continues to be very innovative and customer centric in their products. I have been very happy with the Ninja Flip Toaster/Air fryer. The Ninja Crispi Glass Air Fryer looked interesting when I noticed this Ninja® Crispi™ Microwave & Air Fryer with FusionCrisp was new on the market. This new product is a game changer, and I can't wait for all the cookbook authors to update their books to include the use of the microwave and air fryer in one appliance. There are so many cool things about FusionCrisp that I am discovering as I work my way through the limited number of recipes for this appliance on the SharkNinja website and in the Chef-Inspired Recipe Book that is in the box. The features that make this so valuable to me are the following: ~ Versatility: Countertop Microwave (1000-watt), Convection Air Fryer (1700-watt), and FusionCrisp Technology —designed to replace a countertop microwave and air fryer with one versatile appliance. The noise level is much lower than my OTR (over the range) microwave. ~ FusionCrisp technology: Your cooking session begins with microwaving, then automatically finishes with air frying. The functionality allows for microwave only, air fryer only, or combined and used in sequenced time. ~ Freezer to table: Using the included CleanCrisp Glassware you can go from frozen to crispy in minutes. Up to 60% faster than a conventional oven. ~14-in-1 cooking functionality: 8 Microwave Presets (Popcorn, Potato, Defrost, Beverage, Soup, Frozen Dinner, Frozen Vegetable, and Soften Butter), 5 Air Fry Presets (Max Crisp, Crisp, Air Roast, Air Bake, and Air Broil), plus FusionCrisp Technology. ~ No Turntable: Flatbed design eliminates the need for a turntable, because the wave stirrer that is below the bottom of the cooking space rotates. That means you can microwave 4 bowls or 2 bags of popcorn at once. ~ Nontoxic Cooking: CleanCrisp Glassware and crisper plate are 100% PFAS, PTFE, and PFOA free. The glassware holds up to 6 lbs of wings, 4 lbs of fries, an 8-lb chicken, or 4 pizza slices. ~ Easy Clean: The CleanCrisp Glassware and crisper plate are dishwasher safe for hassle-free cleanup, and the turntable-free interior easily wipes clean with no awkward turntable to maneuver around or clean. ~ Child Safety Lock: It complies with the regulations for countertop appliances that uses a 2-step safety feature to prevent children from opening the unit while in use. They also provide a way to manually disable that feature when it is not needed. ~ The instrument panel is easy to see, understand and use; enabling me to use its microwave only, its air fryer only or FusionCrisp which allows me to program the time for the microwave to run, followed by the time for the Air Fryer to run. I am still learning more and more about the functionality and advantages of cooking with microwave and air frying in one session using one appliance and within one container (CleanCrisp Glassware). Considering the technology, the brand reliability, safety features, ease of cleaning, justifiable price, and innovation; I highly recommend the Ninja® Crispi™ Microwave & Air Fryer with FusionCrisp. • Depends on what you make & need
Color: Silver
If you’re someone who lives in an apartment that doesn’t have a built in microwave, I can see how awesome this would be for you! I do have a built in, so I am concerned it’s just another giant appliance on my counter. That being said, I don’t have an air frier, so this one does that for me. I love that it’s not plastic. I hate that you have to use the pan for everything you air fry. It’s a lot of dish washing. It’s not complicated, but I wish there was easy parchment like regular air frier liners. As for cooking, it’s a little intimidating. The recipe books that came with are great and pretty thorough for typical air fry items along with their own recipes. I haven’t tried any of these but they look good! So far, I’ve made bacon and pizza rolls. The recommended time for pizza rolls was too long. I hated having to shake them a bunch. It’s so heavy and not really shakable. You need to tongs it which is hard for items in the back of it. We did a blind taste test against microwaving and everyone preferred the microwave but mostly because they were over cooked in the air fryer which is an easy fix. The bacon took much longer than a microwave but was amazing. Seriously, I’m still thinking about that perfect bacon days later. Pro -perfect bacon -great recipe directions -space saving if you don’t have a microwave Cons -takes longer than microwave -recipe pictures are fuzzy -heavy pan can’t really shake easily -space eating if you do have a microwave ... show more

  • A Microwave That Finally Understands Crispy Food
Color: Silver
The future is finally here. We now have a microwave with a built-in air fryer, which feels like something the Jetsons would have kept beside the robot maid. At this rate, I am hoping Ninja’s next release is the Rehydrator from Spy Kids, where you insert a tiny packet and pull out an entire burger and fries meal a few seconds later. Until then, the Ninja Crispi is about as close as my kitchen has come. A normal microwave heats food quickly but often leaves breading, pizza crust, and fries limp. An air fryer fixes the texture, but it takes longer and occupies another large patch of counter. This combines a 1000-watt microwave and a 1700-watt air fryer in one appliance, so it can handle quick reheating, crisping, roasting, baking, broiling, and regular microwave tasks without keeping two separate machines out. The combined cooking mode is the most interesting part. It begins with microwave energy to heat the food quickly, then automatically finishes with circulating hot air to brown and crisp the outside. That works particularly well for frozen foods and leftovers where I want the inside hot without sacrificing the exterior. Pizza comes back with an actual crust instead of becoming warm rubber, while fries, breaded chicken, and similar foods have a much better texture than they would after microwaving alone. The air-fry system reaches up to 450°F, so it feels like a real air fryer rather than a token convection setting added to a microwave. It is also surprisingly versatile when the two cooking systems are used separately. There are eight familiar microwave presets, five air-fry modes, and the combined mode, but I am not forced to use a preset for everything. I can quickly soften butter or heat soup one moment, then air roast vegetables or crisp wings the next. It replaces enough smaller appliances and cooking methods that the large footprint becomes easier to justify. The flat interior is another major improvement over a traditional microwave. There is no glass turntable occupying the center or forcing every container into a circular path, so the rectangular space is much easier to use efficiently. It can accommodate the included 5.5-quart glass dish, a 9-by-11-inch baking dish, several bowls, or even two bags of popcorn at once. Not having a turntable also means there is no awkward glass plate and roller assembly to remove whenever something spills. I especially like the included glass cooking dish. It feels more substantial and useful than a proprietary basket that can only live inside the appliance, and I can use it for preparing, cooking, serving, and storing food. The glassware and crisper plate are dishwasher safe, while the turntable-free interior is easy to wipe down after spills or splatter. The microwave side sounds about how I would expect from a normal countertop model. Air frying is more noticeable because the fan has to move a substantial amount of hot air, so it produces a steady convection hum rather than operating silently. It is not an unpleasant or rattly sound, but it will definitely be heard in a quiet kitchen. The combined mode naturally changes sound as it transitions from microwaving to crisping. This is also a fairly large and substantial appliance. The weight helps it feel stable and well built, but it is not something I would want to pull out of a cabinet every time I cook. It is best treated as a permanent countertop appliance, and I would decide where it is going before carrying it into the kitchen. That heft is easier to accept if it is replacing both an existing microwave and air fryer, rather than joining them and creating a countertop appliance convention. At $450, it costs considerably more than buying a basic microwave or air fryer by itself. It makes the most sense for someone who uses both constantly, wants to consolidate appliances, or is tired of transferring food from the microwave to the air fryer just to make it crispy again. Overall, this is one of the rare combination appliances where the two functions genuinely complement each other. The microwave provides speed, the air fryer restores the texture microwaves usually destroy, and the combined mode handles both without requiring me to move the food halfway through. It is expensive, heavy, and not silent, but it feels less like a microwave with a novelty air-fry button and more like the first meaningful redesign of an appliance that has been reheating leftovers the same way for decades. ... show more

  • Love this so far
Color: Silver
I ordered this fourteen in one 0.9 cubic foot 1000W bake, broil , roast, air fryer Ninja microwave fusion, because I previously purchased a different brand several years ago, and I really didn't like how it functioned. When I saw this one, I thought it would be just the appliance I've been wanting to replace my old one with, and by a trusted brand. It arrived very well protected in an outer box and styrofoam, and an attractive, professional looking box on the inside, giving it a great gift presentation. Upon opening, there were no off-putting or chemical scents, and everything looked exactly like the listing photos. I was SO excited to try this out, so I quickly read all of the instructions and started planning my recipes. The directions were easy to read and follow, including illustrated and photographic examples. It was a sinch to set up, and I disabled the child lock because we won't be needing that, and I plan on cooking proteins with sides, and don't want the hassle. I chose to cook a whole chicken because I'm not the type to shy away from a challenge. I even decided to roast one simultaneously in my oven, to compare the results. The chicken I cooked in the Ninja was almost 5 lbs, and the one I threw in the oven was almost 4lbs. I wanted to see if I could get them done at the same time. I made a vegetable oil spice rub with my favorites, (Slap Ya Mamma, Lawry's Total seasoning, smoked paprika, hickory liquid smoke, and some black pepper), and brushed it onto my birds. I placed them into the Ninja and oven one right after the other. I couldn't believe how simple it was to set the clock and cook times. There was a lot more popping and crackling of grease and juices than I expected, but I was very surprised it wasn't all over the place in the microwave when the cooking cycles were finished. As for results... there were strengths and weaknesses with both methods. The microwave fusion cooked faster. Since I used the 5lb bird in there, I did have to increase the air fryer time until the internal temperature reached 165°f (about 10 minutes longer). They ended up coming out at almost exactly the same time. The oven bird looked significantly lighter, and the Ninja bird looked a lot crispier and roasted. The texture of the oven bird was more moist, but in the microwave's defense, I had to poke a lot of holes in that Ninja bird to repeatedly measure the internal temperature, so that probably contributed to it being a little dryer. Since I've been using it regularly, to simply reheat leftovers, I noticed it doesn't work as fast as my prior (higher wattage) combo, but it heats more evenly and thoroughly (which I like better). ... show more
