I bought this to replace a 10+ year old Keurig that finally gave out, and so far this has been not just a worthy replacement, but a pretty nice upgrade as well. The build quality feels solid, and it’s much easier to clean than my old Keurig. In the Keurig, loose grounds and water would sometimes spill out into the area around the top of the k-cup holder, which could be difficult to clean. In the Ninja, that whole area where grounds used to accumulate pops out easily and can be cleaned in either the sink or the dishwasher, though I haven’t even seen any loose grounds there yet. Despite having a lot of options, this thing is also pretty easy to figure out, and has a nice little beep to let you know when your coffee’s ready. The drip stopper switch is also really satisfyingly clunky, which I know a lot of people won’t care about, but I appreciate. The coffee quality is great, provided you’re using good quality beans or k-cups. I’ve tried some single-serve coffee makers that don’t seem to ever make good coffee, regardless of what you put in them, so I’m glad this one isn’t like that. My only complaints are that it doesn’t have a low-water warning, it just stops mid-brew and beeps several times if it runs out, and it makes a high-pitched whine when it’s brewing, almost like a dog whistle. Most people I don’t think would even notice that, but I hace more sensitive hearing than most people, so it kinda bothers me, but not enough to ruin it by any means. This is the best coffee pot I've ever owed. You can use pods or make a full pot of coffee. I bought 3 Keurig Coffee pots before this one and they pretty quickly had issues. We have very hard water, even with a water softener the Keurig machines couldn't hold up. This one has been a game changer!

Died in 5 months with light use. Cannot get it to work even for cleaning mode. It turns off 30 secs after you hit bee or clean. Just died without warning. So mad. They do not honor the warranty!!! I contacted them and went through all the steps. They said they couldn’t replace the part but would the main unit if I paid shipping. They required me to cut the power cord and send pics which I stupidly did. They agreed to replace but I never received the payment email for shipping which I requested and then they canceled the replacement. Update: after I posted, they emailed me to reinstate the order. They are making it right and I am pleased they are communicating but this has been a journey… ... show more

Some years back, we switched from a full-pot coffee maker to a K-cup brewer. I never liked the waste (and cost) of all those K-cups. Finally decided to look around for a machine that could brew K-cups AND full pots. This one is astonishing. The compact size alone was a selling point. Not too tall and definitely not too deep. But it has EVERYTHING: - programmable in advance - easy to remove (and clean) water tank that works for both K-cups and full pot. No more grimy, hard-to-reach areas where mineral deposits can build up - You can continue to keep it on "warm" setting as long as you like - option to brew full pots or increments - big pot, easy to clean - built-in scoop spoons - choice of regular or "rich" brew - automatic pause when you remove the pot to pour a cup before brewing is complete - cleaning cycle I could go on but you get the idea. I bought mine "used" (actually brand-new but box had been opened) so saved about $50 on it. Don't hesitate! ... show more

First, I should note that I just got this machine and have only used it 3 times so far, twice to make a half-carafe of water to use for tea, and once to make a cup of coffee using a k-pod. I am also fairly new at drinking coffee and tea, so please bear both those things in mind when reading my comments. My first concern was that there was NO instruction manual included. I don't know whether that was an oversight - certainly the machine is involved enough that I felt a manual was essential. Thankfully my husband was able to find the manual online and print it out. But there wasn't even anything included to tell us to look online for the manual. Second concern is the sizes - the sizes are WEIRD and make no sense - they say 1/4 carafe is 28 ounces, 1/2 carafe is 37 ounces, 3/4 carafe is 46 ounces, and full carafe is 55 ounces. As a math major, this particularly bothers me, but honestly this makes no sense: if full carafe is 55 ounces, 1/2 carafe should be 27-1/2 ounces, NOT 37 ounces. I do NOT understand these. I used 1/2 carafe to make hot water to fill two large tea mugs (about 16 ounces each), and that worked well. Cup sizes are 8, 10, 12, 14, and 18 ounces - 16 ounces is what we usually want for tea, so it's disappointing that one was not an option, but I can live with doing 14 ounces, OR using the 1/2 carafe when both my husband and I are doing tea. So those are the two issues I have found so far - missing instruction manual and strange sizes. But on the good news side, it seems easy to operate (even for someone like me who isn't super talented at using fancy equipment), and it's certainly quick and easy to boil water for tea (we had been boiling water in a pot on the stove, which also isn't hard, but this is easier and don't have to watch to see when it boils). ... show more

It is compact enough to keep on the countertop. The coffee it makes is really, really good too! Rivals our way more expensive built in at home. After years of trying different coffee makers this Ninja Drip with K cup is the best! I never understood why no matter which coffee I tried I was never satisfied with the taste. Using the drip I noticed right away the adapter is large with plenty of holes for water to drip through. So no dry coffee grounds and that in itself makes a big difference in taste. The K Cup works very well and after 3 weeks of use there has been no leakage or overflow or spewing out of my coffee cup. The carafe is sturdy and solid. For now I am using coffee filters but after they are all used up I might try a permanent filter. I will make sure that the permanent filter is not solid on the bottom where the shape funnels down. That I have learned was one of my biggest problems using them with previous coffee makers. For me, there was a bit of a learning curve especially setting up the timed brew. I was trying to read instructions as I was pushing buttons but you only have a second before it goes back to the previous step. So I memorized the steps and then set the timed brew. There is a holder that connects to the back that I use for the drip attachment but although the K Cup attachment fits the holder it sticks out too far and my coffee maker has to set out away from the wall too far. I was used to having a K cup brewer and a separate drip coffee maker so it is a bit of a process to switch between the two but the results of both make it worthwhile and I got used to it pretty fast. After the morning coffee is gone I just set up the K Cup for the rest of the day then switch back to carafe at night for the delay brew. I have only made ice coffee once but it worked perfectly and the ice was not melted. I definitely recommend this coffee maker. ... show more
