  • Another fantastic camera from Nikon
Nikon builds great cameras, and the Z6 is no exception. I love the resolution, performance and capabilities of this camera. It supports all of my existing Nikon Lenses through the FTZ adapter, but the Native Z lenses are so good, I may switch over to those. This is a prosumer camera, which can handle personal and professional work. I find the AutoFocus to be perfect for my needs, as well as around the family for fun shots. I recently took this on vacation, and was very pleased with the output. (see photos). ... show more

  • First mirrorless Camera after many years of SLR and DSLR
Awesome picture quality, multiple functions for shooting variables and easy learning curve for Nikon users. I am excited and impressed with my Z6 and the photography experience it brings. I hike and like to take a lot of pictures on the way. This camera is much lighter and faster to use than my DSLR. Thoroughly enjoy it! ... show more

  • Love this camera!
I got this because I wanted a full frame mirror less camera to up my professional game. This camera seemed right. I love it and regret nothing. The things to consider when thinking of buying this camera are the af, the lenses and media. The AF is great for one time shots, but you might encounter af issues with continuous shooting with an action scene. There is also a glaring green light in low light af (I shoot concerts so I put gaff tape over it and don’t have issues). The lenses are more expensive than I thought, but the quality is excellent. I noticed low light is better with the z lenses than my nikor 50mm lens. And finally the media: XQD cards. They’re faster and more durable, but expensive as heck! If you can accept these minor issues and are on the fence, this camera is probably for you. ... show more

  • Great new camera
There has been tons written about this setup, so I'll just add my non-professional observations after a month or so of ownership. Picture quality is great. The kit lens 24-70mm f/4 lens is really sweet. Cannot wait for Nikon to round out the Z-mount lens catalog. The short battery life is over (under?) stated. I'm getting 600+ pictures on a battery charge without trying to be a battery conservationist. I bought a couple of extras just in case, but only expect to need them if I go to a really photo-rich environment and spend hours snapping away. I have not seen the advertised problem with the auto-focus, but have not been in situations to challenge it either. Jury's out. Hopefully a future firmware upgrade brings a smile to those who are unhappy with it. ... show more

  • Fast, light and fun to use.
I got this to complement my D810 and now find myself using this more. D810 Has sharper photos but this thing is just so light and fun to use.

  • Fantastic performance, great ergonomics, single QXD slot
I've shot with Nikon since my D200, almost 14 years ago, and have owned a Nikon D300 and D750 during that time. I hesitated upgrading to the Z-6 for a year because I was concerned about the single card slot and other negatives I'd heard about the camera. I seriously considered switching to Sony for the A7 III, but ultimately I had too many lenses to make the switch (you date your camera body but marry the glass as the saying goes). I regret not buying the Z-6 sooner: it's a really impressive camera, and the in-body stabilization has been a game changer for my photos as I shoot mostly with primes and don't have the steadiest of hands. The 24-70mm lens is very sharp and a compact, solid lens (though slow at f/4). Honestly, so far I'm loving everything about this camera except for two things: 1) The single QXD card slot is a potential source of failure, and QXD cards are expensive relative to SD cards. Nikon still hasn't released the firmware update to allow CFexpress cards; when they do it will allow for more card options. 2) The lack of a flash bugs me a bit. I rarely use a flash, but when I do it's great to have one on the camera, even if it's a weak one. I shoot natural light 99.9% of the time, but I'm never going to carry my big flash for that .1% of the time, so from that perspective this is a step back from my D750. Not a huge issue, but it's a real one. Overall I am very pleased with this camera so far - my images are staggeringly sharp and gorgeous compared to what I had before, and I also really appreciate finally having 4K video capture. At this price, the Z-6 packs a lot of punch for the dollar and is a fantastic camera that I recommend highly. ... show more

Nikon Z6 mirrorless camera takes great photos. Works well in low light.

  • Top notch mirrorless camera!
I extensively tested and compared Z6 against other cameras like Sony A7III. This is an outstanding camera. Extremely fast auto focus. Great controls. FTZ adapter works flawlessly on Nikon and modern 3rd party lenses (slow focusing on old Tamron lenses only). Highly recommend it!!!
