Use this 16-50 F2.8 zoom on a Nikon Zfc. Balances great but slightly heavy as expected since it's a constant F2.8 and has Vibration Reduction. Image quality is the same as the DX primes from Nikon. I also have the Nikkor 18-140/3.5-6.3 DX VR lens which is lighter, skinnier, and slightly longer than the 16-50 lens. I use the 18-140 primarily for outdoor and travel. You can do great macrography with this lens. The difference between this one and traditional macros is you widen your picture frame at any time. Takes great picture. I have Nikon Z 4/24-70 which is the same range without application to shoot macro pictures,

This 24-75mm full frame equivalent lens takes Nikon DX (APS-C) cameras to another level. The constant f/2.8 aperture delivers a pleasant, uncrowded bokeh on par with an f/4 full frame lens. However when it comes to light gathering f/2.8 is f/2.8, irrelevant of being APS-C or full frame. Very fast autofocus on the Z50 II. Very very sharp on center and slightly softer on the edges. This is an absolute must for the Z50II, the size and light weight are amazing and even handheld video, albeit not while walking, is spectacular! The bokeh while equivalent to F4-4.5 is attractive and the close focus for macro is nuts for a 24-75mm "non-macro" I'm pretty sure they didn't give it the MC stamp because it was released at the same time as the 35mm F1.7 MC. ... show more

I bought this lens a couple of months ago, but wanted to have time to test it out more fully before leaving a review. My conclusion after heavy use is that this lens is worth all the hype and extra expense. It was so nice leaving my heavier prime lenses at home and traveling with just this lens and the 50-250mm kit lens with my Z50ii camera body, for a recent 2-week trip to Australia. This set-up was quite lightweight, which is extra important to me when traveling. The DX 16-50mm F/2.8 lens is sharp, lightweight, and produces beautiful images. I'm so happy I decided to buy it early, even if it meant paying a bit more, not holding out for a sale or used version. In the end, these photos are priceless for documenting my memories of this special trip. I should note that all of my photos were shot in raw and edited in Lightroom Classic. My only regret was not using it more at F/2.8, as I often forgot to switch it back to F/2.8 after shooting scenery, but it's hard not to love the results either way. ... show more
