Because of the price, I had to wait for almost 2 years to make the decision to buy this, but it was definitely worth the wait. I have using it mainly for landscape photography and portraits and occasionally for kids sporting events, and if its within your price range, can’t go wrong with this.

    • Lightening Fast Tack Sharp
I have the 70-200 2.8 that I used with the adapter. I wanted my first z lens to be magical. It is! It's not that much lighter than the original. There's a lot of glass working. I bought the 2x and the results while at f 5.6 are strikingly impressive. The autofocus is immediate. I have not yet worked with the VR. On first blush, this one is a classic. ... show more

    • Amazing lens
Perfect. The internal zoom makes it much easier to balance, too. It is a heavy lens, though, so be prepared for that.

    • My favorite
This is becoming my favorite lens to use. The versatility and sharp focus make it a must have for my portrait work. The colors it renders and depth of field while maintaining a sharp focus at lighting fast speed make it well worth the investment.

    • Amazing
What can I say? Its a 2K lens that delivers its worth. Sharp as hell, fast and allows you to shoot really close to the subject

    • Lense came pretty beat up. It seems to be functioning okay.

Lense came pretty beat up. It seems to be functioning okay. But I guess I'll find out if it holds up. Pretty disappointing that the lense looks like this. Makes me wonder if there are issues on the internals

    • Phenomenal sharpness, speed, clarity, and color = excellent glass
Bought this as a refurb, but couldn't tell it had been used. This lens has phenomenal sharpness, speed, clarity, and color. If you are using an adapter with your old AFS lens on a Z body, then you are missing a lot. However, I have to deduct a star for the price - it's just SO expensive!
