  • Excellent point and shoot camera for its price.
I have had this camera for about four months. My final verdict is I love it and here is why. 1. It is user friendly. I was able to figure out how to use it without using a guide. Will except for the formatting of my SD card, I had to make a service call for that one. (Service rep was friendly and helpful) The camera took two good pictures when I first got it, then froze up, and would not take any more pictures. I came to find out it used all of its internal memory and since my SD card was not formatted the camera had no were else to go. Once I formatted my SD card it worked great. 2. The options. I like the fact that I can choose to take 16 mb picture down to VGA quality picture. It does the same with the video. It has about 6 different video/ picture gradients to choose from. The fun features it comes with is well just "wow". I love the sepia and all the different scene shots. I Love the continuous shooting options. I do have more trouble getting crisp pictures from this, though. 3. The video is so amazing. I can hardly believe, that I own a point and shoot camera that takes video at such an amazing quality. It still blows my mind. I almost think the price of the camera is worth this feature alone. And recording is so easy just hit the record button. Love it, absolutely love it. 4. The auto focus mode. It takes really good idiot proof pictures. Not the auto scene mode just the plain full auto mode. They are Crisp, vibrant and everything I want in a picture 5. 10x optical zoom main reason I bought the camera. It works great. I researched this camera heavily before I purchased it. The battery system is not a problem for me because, [...] I made this purchase on amazon at the same time. I now have three batteries and really good recharger. Yes this camera can take terrible pictures. I have taken some, but I would like to know of a camera that doesn't. All of my bad pictures, I blame on me the photographer and not the camera. But one of the short comings of this camera, that I have noticed, is that I have gotten a lot red eye shots with the flash. I did not expect this and have not made the verdict if it is me or the camera, because in my research others have gotten great flash shots without the red eye. Bottom line this camera has met or surpassed all of my expectations and was worth every penny I put into it, and I gladly recommend it to anybody looking for a good point and shoot camera. ... show more

  • Shutter Stuck open
I purchased this camera for our trip to Europe. I also purchased the hard case to protect it. We wanted a small camera that would easily fit in my purse or around our neck. The first day, it worked great, and the picture quality was excellent. On the 2nd day, the battery died within just a few hours into our sightseeing day, and the shutter lens became stuck in the open position. I carefully put it in my purse until we returned back to our room. I charged it, and the lens still will not close. The entire camera will not function. We have tried removing and replacing the battery, and it absolutely will not do anything. Because of the length of our trip, I am not able to return it. We spent over $200 for a camera and case, that does not work. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. ... show more

  • Great camera
Color: Blue
We bought two of these for our kids (if you haven't given your kids a digital camera you are missing out). I have been a fan of Nikon for a long time and this camera does not disappoint. It is so easy to use. My kids grasped the basics in minutes. The pictures are crisp and clear. And after a few weeks my kids figured out all of the advanced features of the camera. They take all kinds of amazing pictures and edit them right there on the camera. It is amazing how creative they can be with the camera. Also, the battery is exceptional. They go days without having to plug in. So over all I would highly recommend this camera for anyone looking for a simple point-and-shoot. Just wanted to add that we went on vacation with two of these cameras and they performed great. We took pictures in direct sunlight on the beach, at dusk on the beach, inside our hotels and homes, we used black & white, color, took video (including slo-mo) and both cameras worked great. We have a DSLR but it ended up being used rarely because these Nikon's are so small they fit in your pocket yet still take exceptional pictures. ... show more

  • good camera
Color: Blue
battery is an issue. I bought two with the camera and have just started using the extra. The battery that came with it didn't perform well. Takes great pictures and video so far. update a month later...not a battery issue, at least I don't think so. Camera works great. but the USB connection to wall charger does not. It does work for downloading pics to computer but doesn't charge the battery. I bought a separate wall charger thru amazon from wasabi and that works well and you can still use the camera while charging. Amazon serviced well but Nikon has a problem with the wall charger and USB connection. Get the separate wall charger so you can still use your camera. ... show more

  • GREAT CAM!
Color: Red
The camera came with the charger, strap for camera, and a case. The photos are pictures imported from the camera. They take really good quality pictures and it’s very compact. A great deal for a digital camera. The camera was fully charged and had pretty much no scratch it’s in perfect condition.

  • So far, so good
Color: Blue
I bought this camera after much research, deciding that it was the best option for what I wanted to do (basic, flexible point-and-shoot with plenty of zoom). So far it seems that the pictures have nice resolution and I have been pleased with the results in a variety of situations. I can't tell if it's a function of the on-camera screen or the way the pictures are being taken, but in some of the pictures the color balance seems a bit off. When taking pictures in a museum, I found it necessary to turn the "exposure" way way down so that the pictures wouldn't look super washed out (I was not using flash to avoid reflection on the exhibit cases). Sometimes the antishake doesn't seem to work as well as my old camera (a Panasonic Lumix from 2009). So overall, I'm not overawed by it but it seems to be performing reasonably well. I hope it doesn't break soon, as it seems that may be the biggest downside to this camera (and I've heard consistently terrible things about Nikon's customer service). ... show more
