  • Really great and worth every penny!
I am super happy with my purchase of my Nikon 7x50 Binoculars. I have two other, less powerful, binoculars, and needed a stronger pair. In comparison to the Bushnell pair(s) I already own, the Nikon is, by far and way, superior in every respect! They are super clear, and easy to focus. If I were to have one concern, I do find them fairly heavy. However, it is of little consequence when I consider the great value, and performance, of the Nikon. In short, I would recommend these to anyone who appreciates a quality product! ... show more

  • Great optics
Large eyepieces, great resolution, equal or better than my Zeiss pair

  • OMG so amazing.
Call me silly, but I'm a Canon Camera guy and I was a little bit wary of buying Nikon binoculars. It just seemed blasphemous. But the price of these mixed with Nikon's admittedly stellar reputation for making great glass made it too hard to pass up. I'm so glad I bought these. They're so amazing for the price. The optics are crystal clear (I have good vision), and the 50mm objective lens is absolutely worth the slightly large size if you want bright, clear views. It actually seems to me that what I'm viewing through these is even a little brighter than it appears with my naked eye. This is great in the evenings when the sun goes does, and for looking at the moon and stars. You may think that 7x magnification is not that much, but it makes whatever you're looking at much, much larger than with the naked eye. Also, anything more than 7x magnification is difficult to hold steady for most people without a monopod or tripod. I had a pair of 20x once, and they were nearly impossible to use properly without a tripod. 7x is ideal to me. Best balance. Overall, these are just plain wonderful. I can't recommend them enough. They work so well and are clearly well made. I highly recommend them to anyone that doesn't need pocket sized binoculars. ... show more

  • Nikon 8247 - Good Binocs
These bincoculars have pretty good optics and very little color aberration noticeable. I like the 7x magnification - any more and the image would be too shaky for me. Also, nice and bright image. It seems like they brighten up dim views just a touch. The Cons are: Hard to focus right eyepiece (hard to rotate) and the bridge between the 2 eypieces is plastic and a little flimsy so you can't put much pressure on the eypieces or it will go out of focus. So, what do you want for around $110 bucks? I enjoy these overall however, and I think they are a good buy for the money. ... show more

  • great performance for the price
These porro prism binos are fantastic. The optical quality (resolution, color fidelity, low light performance, depth-of-field, etc.) is as good as or better than roof prism binos costing thousands. It takes a very careful side-by-side test to see the differences between this Nikon and binos costing more than $3000, and although differences can be seen, in all circumstances where the expensive bino is sufficient, this Nikon is also sufficient. In testing while conducting bird surveys, these Nikons work about as well as any bino at any price. They are not, however, the bino I would want if I had to carry them a lot and only look through them a little. For that, you might want a nice, sleek roof prism instead... ... show more

  • I love these!
Great clarity, not too heavy, fast, convenient, and simple to use when I want to see the moon or Jupiter. Able to see 1 of Jupiter's moons. Pleiades look fuzzy to my naked eyes, but pop brightly with these bins. Able to easily find Andromeda galaxy and Orion nebula, and am learning the night sky using these. ... show more

  • Amazing optical performance for the price
For the price the optical clarity of these binoculars is exceptional. I've owned a few binoculars and spotting scopes, and while these are low mag, the large objective and clarity of the optics brings out detail you don't expect. My first test was to look across a golf course at a parking lot, about 500m. With the naked eye you can see there are cars there. With the binoculars I could clearly see the colors of the shirts and bags of people loading their clubs. Turned towards a mountain ridge, I saw the ridge BEHIND the ridge, and could see there were trees on that distant ridge. I'm not sure how far away it was, but it must have been at least ten miles. I didn't even know it was line of sight from where I was. At night, the low power and large objective collect so much light objects on the sky and ground are brighter than they'd be unaided. I can barely make out some Jovian moons with these, if I brace my arms and hold it carefully. That's impressive performance. ... show more
