  • Great value night vision binoculars for casual use!
I was honestly impressed with these night vision goggles for the price. The picture quality is surprisingly clear, especially in low-light and complete darkness. The 4K video feature works well, and the included 32GB SD card was a nice bonus so I could start using it right away. The zoom function is easy to use, and the rechargeable battery lasts a decent amount of time during outdoor trips. I mainly used them for nighttime wildlife watching and they picked up details much better than expected. The rangefinder feature is also a cool addition. They do feel a little bulky at first, and the menu takes a few minutes to figure out, but overall they’re easy to use once set up. For the price, these are a solid option for hunting, camping, security, or just exploring at night. ... show more

  • gimmicky gadget gimmicky gadget
Night Vision? Like with an infra-red flashlight? Goggles? You can’t wear it and need to hold it far enough away so your eyes can focus on the low resolution display. Binoculars? With only one imaging device? The snapshots run about a tenth the file size of those from my mid range phone camera. The rangefinder is decent but not so good out past 50m in target selection. The screen can be seen in daylight but detail, such as reading the rangefinder, can be problematic. The buttons are easy to hit when handling the thing and they have multiple functions. This may be related to why on and off are three second hold-downs. A USB card reader is included for USB-C, USB-A and USB micro ‘to go’ ports. That is the first time I’ve seen a micro B tucked inside a USB-A. I attach a near-field still life but 'something went wrong' trying to post goldfinches having a ride on the feeder in gusty wind conditions with either AVI or mp4 to show what the camera can do. There are a lot of adjustments that could be made to fine tune the image in terms of exposure and contrast. I notice that the EXIF data is nearly empty. I’d expect it to include camera ID, exposure parameters, date, and time. But no. Magnification and being unable to steady the thing by holding against the head make for a shaky picture. ... show more

  • Solid Build & Stunning Clarity Solid Build & Stunning Clarity
I am genuinely impressed with these Night Vision Goggles with AI Smart Rangefinder. The quality and build exceeded my expectations right out of the box. They feel solid, well-made, and durable, not cheap or plasticky like some other night vision devices I’ve tried before. The design is comfortable to hold and clearly built for real outdoor use. The night vision performance is outstanding. Even in full darkness, the image is sharp, bright, and detailed. The 4K video quality is amazing and captures clear footage with excellent contrast. The AI smart rangefinder works accurately and adds a very useful layer of confidence when observing targets at a distance. The 8X digital zoom performs smoothly and makes it easy to focus on distant objects without losing too much clarity. I really appreciate that a 32GB SD card is included, which means it’s ready to use right away. Recording photos and videos is simple, and playback looks great. The USB-C rechargeable battery is another big plus, offering fast charging and good battery life during extended use. I ordered this through Amazon Vine, and I’m extremely happy with it. This feels like a professional-grade device at a great value. I can’t wait to take this out for hunting and nighttime wildlife observation. Highly recommended for anyone serious about night vision gear. ... show more

  • More like a digital camera than goggles...
It's still super cool, but these are not held up to your eyes like goggles. It's a super long range digital camera, essentially. It has build in flood illumination IR LEDs, so it can see what you can't, and that does work shockingly well. Picture quality is acceptable for the price, and it's definitely a fun tool too take camping or hunting at night. ... show more

  • A fun toy, not functional for hunting, etc. A fun toy, not functional for hunting, etc.
These units are all over the place these days and unfortunately none of them have really improved over the past few years. At this point I own 3 of these and a set of real military grade night vision. None of these sub $200 digital units can hold a candle to the real deal (and at about 25x the cost, it makes sense.) So the question is, will this $130 night vision work for you? All of these light weight hand held digital units suffer from the same issues. There is always digital lag when scanning around because the unit needs to buffer for a second (hopefully not while you are walking). There is always a bright screen in your face making you light up to any animal in the area. The magnification (1x seems to be magnified still) is always a little too much for using them for walking and some things will always be out of focus because you can't set the focus to see far and close at the same time. The IR light only goes out so far so you are limited on sight distance to whatever the flashlight can hit. You are essentially always looking for the opportune situation to be able to use them to their strengths. What this means is that you have something that could be cool, but isn't really usable in most cases. if you hear something outside, you cant just look out because the glass reflects back the IR flashlight so you have to go outside anyway. If you want to animal watch at night, the distance the light goes may not be enough to see the animals. You can't use it for walking in the woods because putting a bright light against your eyes means you ruin all of your natural night vision. It also is too hard to navigate because you are always adjusting focus and trying to see the ground and distance. You cant hunt with it because you cant mount it to anything or go hands free. So where do you use this? Its fun and kinda gimicky, but beyond that, the flaws of digital night vision makes it mostly a toy. Sure it can take pictures and video, but how often do you want or need a black and white photo of something in the dark or day photos 1/4 the quality of my cell phone? I do like that they put a range finder in it, but other than night hunting when would you need to use that feature? night golf? You also could use the rangefinder during the day, but a golf rangefinder is small and can be had for $30. I could see this being a fun set to take to an airsoft tournament with relatively low replacement cost. It would make a good addition for a milsim event where you are doing recon or something similar. I also do like that it comes with a 32gb card and a card reader. That was a nice addition. Most of these unit cost around $100 so adding in a card, reader, and having a range finder is a pretty good value. If you are looking for night vision that is functional for hunting or anything else, you will likely have to shell out a few thousand dollars for a PVS-14 or something else. Its fun to see in the dark and it could be a fun item to bring on a camping trip, but most times this will just stay at home in its box. If you just want to see in the dark and think its fun, this set will be good for you. If you have high hopes of this working like real NVGs you will not be happy. At the end of the day these are all probably made in the same warehouse, so pick a unit that has features you will use. ... show more

  • The night vision features are really cool The night vision features are really cool
These goggles are made so that you use the lens portions of the device as you would a camera, you can focus with one lens and get some help using the rangefinder feature. There's an LCD screen opposite of the lenses that allows you to live view. You have to hold the device a little bit away from the face to use. I do like that there is a sufficient "hood" to block sunlight from washing out the LCD screen when using. The screen can be quite bright at nighttime which does hinder ones ability to be discreet or unseen when using for night vision. The night vision is where this device really excels. I've used it to look at the feral cats near my house at night and the IR light reflects really strongly on a cat eye so they're easy to spot. Even looking into a dark room at night with these goggles you're able to see objects and things in the dark that you wouldn't otherwise with the naked eye. The image capture and video have decent quality - I found the navigating the menu and settings has a learning curve. Once you get used to the menus, the device has some useful features and filters. The accessories that come with are a nice bonus (especially the provided memory card and card reader). ... show more

  • High Regard For It's Value High Regard For It's Value
Quite a number of features are packed into this night vision device from Wardix, many of which are covered in the product description. I’ll try to add a bit where I think it’s useful. The battery capacity is about double what’s in my Sony A7R IV camera battery and provides a very long run time. It charges by USB-C via a 5V/2A DC charger that’s not included (but many of us already have one), which is one of the few things that’s not included in this kit. So, no fast charging. Plan on about 4 hours to fully charge the battery from zero. By my scale the device is 351 grams - quite a distant cousin to the 150 grams listed. Still, its light weight, but somewhat bulky. You’ll need big pockets for its 4 5/8 x 6 x 2 1/8 inch dimensions. However, a neck strap is included. Zooming (0-8x) is entirely digital magnification; no optical. Thus, the picture degrades the more that is zoomed. At max, it’s still usable for larger objects. The 3.2” active matrix display is plenty big enough. At 480 x 854, or about 410K pixels, it’s OK for the price, but higher resolution would have been appreciated. The lens is a 25mm f/1.2, so it gathers lots of light and it’s very well suited to the job. Photo and video recording are both available. Video is selectable between 360P and 4K. The attached footage I took is 4K. Stills and video are recorded on an included 32GB TF memory card (up to 256GB max). I appreciate that they included that. No SD card slot. I tested the range finder up to 216 yards in daytime and 126 yards at night which you can observe in the attached video. (The distant utility pole was at 126 yards.) I repeated the test with my Vortex Ranger and found an 8 yard difference at the max range between the 2 devices, with the night vision device measuring the shorter distances. Besides the neck strap and the 32GB storage card, a USB-C/USB-A cord, and a nice card and thumb drive reader is included in the kit. It has slots for TF,SD, and a thumb drive. It can also connect to a phone or computer by either C or A USB, one at either end. It’s going to be very handy for a lot more uses than just the night vision device. Beyond the above, there are too many settings and ranges of settings for me to include in this review. but here are a few of the highlights mentioned in the user manual. Seven photo resolutions, seven video frame rates, 350 meter ranging distance, seven level infrared adjustment via a 850nm infrared spotlight, 400-500 meters viewing distance in complete darkness, on-device playback, time and date stamps, focus adjustment like binos, etc., etc. The user manual is very thorough and readable (larger print and good English). The build quality is OK, not premium, but the plastic body is strong and durable. It’s not waterproof or dust resistant. The button switches work as expected. I would have liked them to be backlit because I can’t read them in the dark, and I’ll just have to memorize which is which. All said, I think this night vision device punches above its price and is a great value for all the features that it provides. The night viewing works better than I expected, and I once owned a $3600 light amplifying device I used for astronomy. Of course, that’s a totally different animal. Yet this still impressed me when compared to other more modestly priced night vision devices I’ve used. It has lots of other features that work well and add more value to what you’re purchasing. I hope this helped. And thanks for reading. ... show more
