    • New formulation is no good
Very disappointing. This is a new formulation with the same name now in light gray bottle (as opposed to the off-white/biege bottle earlier). It is not even close to the old formulation. The ingredient list from the previous bottle is different so there is no doubt that the formulation has changed. Just to be sure, I waited to finish a whole bottle until reviewing in case it takes time for a new formulation to work properly. I also tried anti-residue shampoos a couple of times to make sure. The results are conclusive. The new formulation has lost all of its original characteristics. People who have used this for years if not decades know exactly what that is. The perfume has changed as well and this is not important for me but those who liked the old smell will be disappointed in this aspect as well. The first effect when I started to use this bottle was noticeable hair falling out (which has happened before when I have tried out new brands). I didn't associate this with this shampoo at first. And then the lathering feel was very different (feels thin and not very luxurious as the previous formulation). I thought perhaps my hair had accumulated too much residue and cleaned it with an anti-residue shampoo. Nope that wasn't it. To be fair, the new formulation is not a bad shampoo. It cleans the hair very well and rinses off nicely but so do so many shampoos at half or a third of the price. It is simply not a premium shampoo anymore which justified the price earlier. People stuck with Nexxus for a very good reason earlier. It kept their hair healthy and it was dependable. Unfortunately, this is the "New Coke" of Nexxus. I am affronted that they decided to sell this new formulation with the same branding and name and at the same price. I expect as more people find this out and stop buying, it will move down in price along with the other products in the $4-$5 range. Unless, they reintroduce the "Nexxus Classic", stay away from this product if what you are looking for is the one you were used to. ... show more

As I've gotten older my hair has thinned quite a bit. You can see my scalp and everything, so upon numerous recommendations from the internet I purchased this product. I was somewhat dismayed that the cap wasn't screwed on all the way when it arrived, so many of the items in the same box were basically covered in shampoo, but shampoo can be washed off, so no big. Not much was lost out of the bottle. Since I've gone through this one bottle, I can't say yet that my hair has thickened, although my boyfriend seems to think it has, but I can confirm that I have been losing less. Much less is appearing in the drain after I wash it and less has been falling out as I style. The texture, though, I can absolutely confirm is immensely softer, smoother with less split ends, breakages and fly aways. ... show more

Honestly, I've never wrote a review before but this one deserves it. I can't help but notice that all the 1-star reviews of this shampoo are from around 2009, and yes, those old reviews made me change my shampoo product for awhile too (seems like it's already been 6 years). Then recently, I saw a new line of Diametress on the shampoo aisles in many convenience stores so I decided to give it a try. Simply put, it's better than before and I'm referring to the original formula this shampoo once had. There is no other shampoo that gives my hair such strength and volume, and boy I tried more than 30 different shampoo from 2009 to now.     • Great shampoo, but use caution when ordering with other items!
I have always used this shampoo since my grandmother found it. I think it really helps. HOWEVER, every single bottle has come with a loose cap. The last one did come in a sealed plastic bag, with leaky top. Use caution when ordering: My first bottle came in the same box as one of those museum-quality calendars. Last one they had. All year, we had a shampoo spot on every month of our calendar. Those birds just did not look the same! ... show more

I have never written a review on any product but I really felt lead to for this Nexxus shampoo. I absolutely love it. I have had cancer twice and have lost all my hair twice. I think the last bout with treatment really weakened my hair growth. I have very fine straight hair and have tried so many different products to give me volume. I am so pleased with this shampoo and both conditioners. I have volume!!! I dreaded doing my hair everyday. Not anymore I just can't tell you how happy I am. Bonus is I can wash my hair now every other day! Thank you for such wonderful products! ... show more
