Addressing all of the items of concern I read prior to purchasing as many of the comments are simply wrong. I purchased the 100' kit, which is really 2 strips of 50'. You can run each strip of 50' from an AC outlet through a small transformer, this sends power through the 2 strips via low voltage. The transformer gets warm, but NOT hot and is NOT a fire risk. The LEDs are by design extremely efficient and do not heat up at all. These are very safe for kids. You can stick them to a mattress, risk of fire is comical. Adhesion: The glue used can peel off the back of the strips if you want. Its similar to a rubber gel you might see holding a gift card to its paper holder. It might damage poorly painted surfaces but I had to move some attached strips mid install and was able to remove without damaging the wall. It is definitely (110%) strong enough to secure the strips. They are not falling off the wall, period. If your wall has 7 coats of paint on it, you might pull some off removing them, but I doubt it. LED space and sizing for cutting: The LEDs are spaced 2 1/4" apart on the strips. If you wish to cut the strips, you have to cut on the gold terminals. The gold terminals are spaced 6 1/2" then 13" alternating/repeating through the strips. This is important as if you do not plan properly and intent on turning a corner, if your run falls in the middle of a 13" section, you are either 6" too long or too short. Plan carefully and only cut the strips on the gold sections. Do NOT cut on the silver soldered portions, or without the connectors clips, these are cheap and sold separately. Connecting strips: The transformer is designed for 50' per connection, and you have 2 connections thus power for 100' split. Do NOT connect both 50' strips end to end, 100' total, and connect to a single spot on the transformer, you will overload the transformer and burn it out. The LEDs are ok quality. They are reasonably bright and the White has a slightly blue tint, but overall no complaints, my 8 yr old was thrilled. Music sync: There is a microphone built into the control box. You can switch the sync mode with the remote. This is plug and play and works as advertised, easy mode for an 8 yr old. Remote: Has like 30 buttons and is easy to use, if not overkill. Perfect for a kid. App: I have not installed the app but honestly, the remote seems sufficient for my daughter who is having a ball without it. These are perfect for a kid's room, definitely worth the cost all things being equal. I wish the strips could be cut every 2-3 inches to make install easier... but for this price point it's hard to complain. Hope this was helpful, GL. ... show more

These LED lights exceeded my expectations. They are very bright, the colors look vibrant, and the remote/app controls work smoothly. Installation was simple—the adhesive sticks well and the strip bends easily around corners. My favorite part is how many color and mode options there are; it really changes the mood of the room instantly. So far, they’ve stayed in place perfectly and haven’t overheated.     • Better Than I Expected

This was very easy and quick to set up underneath my workplace's countertop last year. The remote handles basic tasks well, though a couple of the LED light colors were not accurate to the colors of their corresponding remote buttons (mostly when both blue and green LEDs were being used simultaneously). The built-in microphone was barely used but was responsive when it did get used. For more advanced features, the manufacturer's app is needed. I was wary of installing it, as it's an app and developer I wasn't familiar with. I eventually did install the app, though it was on a separate device, and I only gave it the Bluetooth permissions needed to communicate with the LEDs. The app made the LED strips a lot more interesting, as I was able to more fully customize the light colors and sequences for events such as holidays. I'm not aware of any security issues with the app, but it doesn't hurt to be careful, so I reset my device after I uninstalled the app. There wasn't an UL certification that I could see, though I honestly wasn't expecting one on such an inexpensive item. While an UL certification isn't a guarantee that it won't burst into flames like one hears about with some LED devices (in general, not this brand specifically), it would've given me more peace of mind if I accidentally left it plugged in for a few days. Without such certification, I made doubly sure to unplug the device whenever no one would be at the counter, as I noticed some electricity is supplied to the LEDs even while "off" (putting pressure on some parts of the strips while plugged in would cause a barely-noticeable light to appear in the LEDs). While it was easy to set up, it's very difficult and time-consuming to remove whole if you want to reuse them elsewhere. There are a few points of soldering keeping the strips together, and the metal circuits don't stretch while their backing does. But these seem like problems common with most LED strips in general. Since I didn't care about keeping them whole after some impact damage happened to parts of the LED strips (they were recessed where installed but not inaccessible), tearing them out and throwing them away went pretty quickly. All in all, it worked out very well and was a hit with coworkers and clients alike. Having to throw them away didn't pain me as much as it might have with higher-priced LED strips. I may have been needlessly cautious, but it isn't really paranoia when "they" (including some app developers) really are out to get everyone they can. ... show more
