The media could not be loaded. Let me start by mentioning I’ve used a few draw plates in the past- all very subpar quality. At first I went for an $11 round draw plate at the start of my metalsmithing journey, and I could not understand why the plate would not draw wire through. I tried everything, first filing down the first few mm’s, annealing the metal well, using beeswax, hammering wire through a bit, and no matter what, the plate would not draw the wire through. MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED with this Newry round draw plate!!!!! I am beyond happy and grateful to have a draw plate that works, and works with ease. From my bad experience with the cheap draw plate I was hesitant & scared, but all my anxieties are at rest and now I can make round wire without nearly pulling my arms out of socket. This plate works like a dream. I didn’t even use draw tongs, just thin needle nose pliers with teeth, and the wire pulls through like BUTTER. I am so beyond happy. In fact, with this excellent price point I am ecstatic I didn’t have to spend $100++. Someday I’ll invest in the PepeTools all wire rolling mill, but even then for very small diameter wire I’d need to use my new draw plate. Thank you for a quality product that I can use without issue, and with extremely minimal exertion. You can see in the video how easy it is to use and you can witness the high quality of the product. I highly recommend this as an excellent QUALITY draw plate. I’m happy!

Works great! I have used it for brass wire and for stainless chain. The only very slight bummer with it is that the first couple hole sizes seem to be too far apart from each other. Meaning that when you are drawing down wire or whatever, the first couple take quite a bit of effort to pull through. It's almost like it needs a couple of sizes in between the others to make it a little easier. That's about the only thing. Other than that it works great.

Ok let me tell you about my honest review!! I was skeptical about purchasing another Drawplate because the one I purchased somewhere else, it was not made well! It was not smooth at all, it was shaving my metal and hard to pull every time that’s for sure! I about cried cuz I didn’t think it’s supposed to be made this way!! My boyfriend couldn’t even deal with it anymore! The holes were not consistent!! My last resort was to look on Amazon from this seller and I did not want to pay for another one and be screwed again but I’m 45 yrs old and lanky lol so I went with a review from a lady on here that was 60 something so I trusted her on what she said and you know what, I am in love with this Drawplate from this seller!! I immediately got into the Drawplate and started working with it so low and behold, my heart melted because it is so SMOOTH and DOES NOT SHAVE YOUR METAL, the HOLES were consistent to a T that now all I want to do is more wires and to think I was going to give up! This draw plate is great! So far I’ve taken 12g wire to 16g with little issue at all and want to go to 20g. My biggest problem is getting the end of my wire narrowed enough to fit into the hole and get a good grip on it from the other side, but once I do that, it’s not too hard to pull it through, although, I do have to brace myself. I clamp it in a vise for stability. Annealing often is definitely a must. One thing that would make it better for me is to have gauges marked on the corresponding holes, but a sharpie fixes that. If something ever happened to this one, I would definitely buy again.

This is my 2nd pull plate, the first plate was from a different manufacturer, being a newby cheaper was better. The first was horrible so in my search I found this and am totally amazed at the precision! The holes are precise and I don’t even need a pulley to draw the wire...I’m a 60 year old lady and I draw the wire with nothing but a clamp and tongs...😎

I am not experienced, but I am sure I am drawing the wire through correctly (using a draw bench). I am running annealed sterling silver through a mill down to a square 5.1mm, and then pulling it through the draw plate, stepping down from 5.0 to 3.7mm, but in the end, I get about 3.47mm round wire. I have run this process a couple times with the same result. I do anneal frequently while stepping down to smaller holes, and I am using wax as a lubricant. FYI. I will just have to monitor the size as I go in order to get closest to the target OD of the wire that I am needing.
