There is one small downside for some people- you have to give up a drink holder cup. But all the other products I've tried have worse problems or don't work at all. (For first timers, see end of review) The holder fits solidly but is easy to remove if needed by simply twisting the base. The actual phone clamp is the most adaptable and simple I've used. You can place or remove your phone in 2 seconds. I have an iPhone XS Max in a Rebel case, and it fits easily. That combo is heavy, so it vibrates when I drive. My solution (see photo) was to put a piece of foam tape on the dash and set the stand so the corner of the phone touches the tape. Zero vibration. Viewing and operating the phone: Obviously, don't mess with the phone while you're driving. But you can see the screen easily and use the touch screen almost like it's on a table. Charger cord connects easily. About the other types of holders, here are the common problems I found: - Fit on air vents: Never found one that fits at all, or risks breaking the vent. Also not steady. - Almost all other holders- have to take your phone out of its case, many won't hold larger phones. - Suction cup not to glass: never had a car with any flat smooth surfaces. - Magnetic: where are you going to find any metal? Metal plates that you tape to the dash fall off when they get hot. - Suction cups to glass can work, but look out for these things: If you are farsighted, it's hard to put the phone far enough away. If you put the holder closer to the front, be careful about the sun, both washing out the image and overheating the phone- which can happen in a couple of minutes. ... show more

    • Wife LOVES this Car Cup Phone Holder
My wife was looking for a Car Phone holder and didn't want a dash-mounted or vent mounted holder. I was concerned about her having to look DOWN at the phone while driving, so wanted to get her the tallest car cup mount I could find. This was it, and she LOVES it! She assembled and installed it herself (2013 Altima), and it fit perfectly. The one concern we both had was how the phone might sway during driving due to the height (15 inches). After a few test runs, she reported that the phone doesn't sway nearly as much during driving as we thought it might (obviously, bumpy roads are the exception, but even still - not that bad). The goose neck is rigid enough to minimize swaying, yet flexible enough for her to adjust as needed. She LOVES it! Granted, it is a bit more pricey than most other models out there, but they are all 12 inches or less in overall height, so taking that into account, I was able to justify the additional cost to obtain a 15 inch holder. Andobil Customer Support has send us a few emails post-purchase reaching out to see how we were doing with the unit, and to contact them with ANY issues/problems. So this is the 3rd phone holder I've tried. I have tried the one that clips onto the dash's flasher button. Covered too much up of the HUD. Trashed that one. Next was the vent clip, while it did hold the phone but took two hands most times to keep from coming off. NOW this one. Great hold in the cup holder, goose neck is stiff but not too stiff and holds the weight just fine. Quick release button to free the phone. All around a great value. ... show more

This is exactly what I needed in my 2014 Toyota RAV4. It fits perfectly in the weird triangular compartment in the center console -- so I can still use both of my cup holders. It's a tiny bit wobbly when my phone is attached and I'm driving, but only because it's so tall. It's super sturdy, holds my large Android in its bookfold/flip case with no issues. It's a bit tricky when it's charging because I have an angled charger that doesn't quite fit through the charging port, but it still works just fine on the occasions I need it. No real complaints. If you value a clear path of vision on your dashboard but don't want to look away from the road when you're getting directions and you don't want to risk damaging or blocking a vent, get this! ... show more
