  • Exactly what I wanted!
I know that refurbished electronics are a bit of a gamble. Even if the people who do the cleaning and refit have checked all the boxes, who knows what abuses the machine suffered in its former life. All that said, my expectations were well tempered. Yours should be too! This is used merchandise, so be prepared to contact customer service if something isn’t right, and don’t make a fuss unless they fail to make it right. If that doesn’t sound like fun to you, then buy a new machine. In my case, the computer I received was immaculate inside and out. I suspect it had pretty low hours before it was refurbished. It boots quickly and runs almost silent (you won’t hear it unless there’s nothing else in the room that makes a sound). No issues with the fresh windows install (don’t throw out the papers in the box! You’ll need them to get started). Unlike many of the refurb PC’s in this price range, this has actual, built-in wifi instead of one of those useless USB dongles. The included usb keyboard and mouse were HP branded and appeared to be new. A lot of reviews on other machines complain about super-cheap generic peripherals, so this was a nice surprise. There was also a display port to hdmi converter included, so you’d only need a standard hdmi cable to connect. I opted to buy a display to hdmi cable instead, so I didn’t end up using it. It’s not a new computer, and it’s definitely not a gaming PC (I’m using it as a light duty steam machine, but not running anything with high processing or graphics demand), but it’s exactly the product that was described. Mine was perfect out of the box, but if it wasn’t, I’m confident the seller would have made it right! ... show more

  • Works as advertised
Box contained the refurbished mini-computer with power cord/DC converter and a new USB keyboard and USB mouse. I have a Lenovo dock that would not work with my old Linux server. This HP 600 G2 comes with a USB-3.0 C port, and it does connect to the keyboard/mouse/LAN that are connected to the dock. But it does not connect to a display that is connected to the dock. The display works fine connected to the VGI port on the mini-computer. I did not try the Display Port output. The built in WiFi worked (no WiFi dongle with mine... built in) - I did not try Bluetooth. The fan runs quiet. Windows loaded just fine, and I overwrote it with Ubuntu (Linux) 22.04.3 and it's working fine for the week or so that I have had it. Hope it works for several years. ... show more

  • super compact computer
So I run a D&D game where one of our players plays via video link. I have two computers running, one to control the board camera, and another to control the room camera so the remote player can see our faces and hear us from the mic. The 2nd computer also projects onto a 40" tv so we can see our remote friend. These super powerful and compact computers are perfect for being the host computer for this type of task. Lots of 3.0 usb ports, and other ports. I had to buy a $7 adapter for the video but that was super easy to find on Amazon. Looks like new and runs with Windows already installed. Awesome deal for those wanting to run D20 or some other system to play with friends remotely. ... show more

  • Overall good with a few complaints
Long read, so to summarize: Everything as described was included. Booted up just fine with Windows 10 Pro. Included mouse and keyboard, a USB WiFi dongle, a DC adapter, and a separate power cable. Was a little dusty inside. Had one 16 GB stick of RAM Samsung brand. Looks like there was a WiFi card at one point, which was removed. Appears that the rear antenna external part was removed and the wire was cut, leaving a cut piece of wire laying around under the motherboard. The front side antenna was left there. Value for money was good. Detailed post below. Everything as described in the description was provided and nothing was missing. The model I purchased did not include WiFi and Bluetooth (which I knew), but I did purchase a WiFi card and a set of antennas separate to install myself. They did include a USB WiFi dongle, which was not the best performing one, but it worked. Also included was a mouse and keyboard set, a DC adapter, and a separate power cable. Before I did anything to this machine, I did make sure it booted and it booted up just fine and Windows 10 Pro was installed and activated. So no issues with booting up. No bloatware or anything as well which was great. After powering off, and inspecting the back, I noticed in one of the holes there was a cut wire nearly sticking out the hole and I had no idea what it was. I tried to pull it out thinking it was just a small piece of wire but couldn't. More on this later on. When I took this apart, there was a noticeable bit of dust inside which I just cleaned with some compressed air. The CPU cooler fan was clean though as well as the heat sink. There was single 16 GB stick of RAM that I later changed to two identical 8 GB sticks. The thermal paste was still new and good, but I replaced it anyways before putting this back together. Now the interesting part, there were antennas already installed so it looks like there may have been a WiFi card at some point. The wire going to the front was still intact, but the wire going to the back appears to have been cut. On this machine, the rear antenna has a little piece that protrudes the rear side about 1/4 an inch out and snaps on to the back. It looks like that someone removed that external piece and instead of removing the whole antenna, they simply cut the wire connecting to that piece. This resulted in a piece of cut wire just laying around under the motherboard which in my opinion is very sloppy and some additional care could have gone to proper removal of this. I also don't like having lose wires hanging around inside machines since they may cause damage if they come into contact with any conductive parts. I attached an image showing the cut wire. May not be on the seller, but I think as a refurbished machine seller some time should go into inspecting the machines for things like this (especially since that cut wire was one of the first things I noticed before even taking it apart). Anyways, the antennas were replaced and a new card installed and connected. After putting it all back together, restarted the machine and the WiFi is significantly better. Other than that, everything else worked great as they did before I took the machine apart. ... show more
