🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The beverage fridge has received mixed reviews. Users appreciate its good looks, size, and quiet operation, which make it a good addition to office or home space. They also highlight its value for money. However, a few concerns were mentioned by users such as the difficulty in fitting standard water bottles due to its unconventional dimensions and its temperature control not being cold enough for some beverages.

Pros

  • 🌟 Good aesthetic appeal and size that fits in various spaces
  • 🌟 Operates quietly
  • 🌟 Great value for the price

Cons

  • 💔 Strange dimensions that limit the storage of standard water bottles
  • 💔 Temperature control could be better, struggles to keep drinks very cold
  • 💔 Lacks interior light

Should I Buy It?

If you need a reliable and stylish fridge for your beverages and do not mind a slightly warm temperature for your drinks, then this could be the fridge for you. However, if your requirements include storing standard water bottles or you prefer very chilled beverages, you might need to consider an alternative.

  • Nice Addition to Office
Looks good in my office and keeps my water / soda cool.

  • Weird dimensions
I don't know what to make of this cooler. It does cool drinks, but whoever designed it must not have ever seen a water bottle before. The dimensions are perfectly wrong enough that you can't get two shelves of standard sized water bottles inside on the adjustable shelf. There is no position that the shelf can be in to let that happen. In addition, the rear of the unit has one upper shelf that is conveniently NOT tall enough to fit water bottles. And I can't see how they can say that this hold 60 bottles or cans of anything. If it had not been discounted for Prime Day, I would send it back ... show more

IF YOU LIKE YOUR BEER COLD. DON'T BUY. Only reached 50 degrees. put piece of insulation on inside of window helped 4 degrees.

  • Quiet Fridge
Nice and quiet, does what we ask it to, unobtrusive. Quality level is appropriate for the price. It really should have an interior light, but it's not really necessary.

  • Small, quiet, works great (could be issue with flipping door swing and where condensate goes)
When the pandemic hit last year, I put up a sign at our front door, expressing our gratitude for delivery folks who were working and risking their lives during those very challenging times. Our thank-you sign morphed into a plastic bowl with some water bottles and a small box holding some old Halloween candy. That small box ultimately became a metal box (which used to be made of plastic until a squirrel got super-curious as to the contents) with candy and snacks and a cooler into which I'd dump a bunch of ice from our freezer every morning so that it would chill the water and sports drink bottles therein. However, adding ice and draining warm water every day was getting a little time-consuming, so I kicked around the idea of using an "this is always cold!" mini-fridge instead. I picked one out which had a fairly low price and was from a recognized name brand and ordered it. Unfortunately, its "in stock soon" status at the time of ordering proved to be a three-week delay, so I canceled that one and bought this one instead and it literally arrived the next afternoon. Wow. (And we live in the suburbs!) I followed the instruction in the manual (which is also on a label taped to the electrical plug): let the mini-fridge sit for 24 hours before plugging it in. (My understanding is that the oil in the compressor normally sits in a sump at the bottom of the compressor (compressor motor?) and if the fridge gets jostled around or laid on its side or turned upside-down during transit, the oil leaves the sump and if the fridge gets plugged in before enough of that oil slowly drains back into the sump, that oil starvation can kill the fridge fast. Anyway, I let my fridge sit for a day and a half before I got back to it, so I think I'm in the clear.) I ordered a couple of clip-on thermometers at the same time, but their ETA is a few days from now, so I stuck a random digital thermometer in there. The temperature control on the back is set to 3 (range is 0 to 5, with 5 being coldest) and last I checked, the thermometer showed 50 degrees F. All of this testing is taking place *indoors* which is not its final destination; the plan is to put the fridge on our front porch. I know that it won't likely deliver the same level of chill when it's situated outside, but I figure that when it's 90F+ outside, even if it cools drinks down to 60 or 65F, that's a heck of a lot better than 90F. To be sure, I'm aware that mini-fridges aren't intended to be put into service outdoors, however, once I move it outside, I'm willing to accept a shorter lifespan of my mini-fridge because of the benefit it gives me over the manual cooler + ice process. My intended use for this fridge was to store water bottles on top and sports drink bottles on the bottom and while I found a nice independent review or two elsewhere, I couldn't find interior measurements incorporating the various potential positions of the shelf/rack. So it was with great delight that when I got mine, I found that the 8" tall sports-drink bottle fit in the bottom level (barely!) and the same bottle fit easily up top. (See photo.) I also realized that putting little chocolate bars outside in summer is just mean! So any candy/snacks that can get melty in hot weather might get a spot in a little box in the mini-fridge. :) Two main reasons for my four-star rating (instead of five): - We're fortunate in that the default door swing suits our needs, but if I had to swap the door swing, that would change the long slot on the edge of the door frame from its current, reasonable position to a low position, making for a weird physical pull to open the door. A potential solution is that the door could just have a standard handle (like a cabinet pull) placed in the middle of the edge of the door. - The drip tray is a clever piece of plastic that clips on to the top of the compressor (tank?). It has a hole in it which will drain excess water when the tray becomes full. However, that hole is directly over some of the components of the fridge which would probably do better than to have condensate dripping on them, drying, dripping, drying, etc. Better, IMO, would be a short length of drain tube to discharge excess condensate to a safe location. This may become an issue when I run the fridge outside in humidity that is higher than indoors, so I may shove some suitable-diameter silicone tubing into that hole so the condensate clears all components in the back of the cabinet and the cabinet itself. If you get one, I hope it works as well for you as this one seems to be working for us! Update a few days later: at setting 5, it went down to 42F. I put it outside earlier today and left it at setting 4 and I think it's showing 50F, which is fantastic. I also noticed the body of the fridge was a little hot, so I'm hoping that doesn't kill it out of the gate. If it does, we'll likely dial things back to those 10L or 15L "makeup" fridges that will only hold a few bottles. I also had trouble shoving a suitable-diameter silicone tube into the drip tray, so I gave one end of the tube an angled cut and that seemed to help it find it's way in. The tube extends past the case and I imagine it will get at least a little workout. ... show more
