I tested all of them and they all worked. They were a fun add to party favor bags for 5-year-old and 7-year-old (boy and girl) birthday parties. Haven't had them on long enough to know battery life. My kids had fun dancing in a dark room with these until they accidentally got too close and one got whipped across the cheek and was cut by the bristles. Aside from that, some of the bristles have fallen on the floor but the wands don't look thinning and it wasn't a pile, just a couple here and there.
