  • Crystal Clear Audio That Gives You An Edge Fragging
I have been using the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7P as my primary driver for a while now and I really have nothing bad to say about them. As a software engineer who also spends a lot of time in long gaming sessions, I am looking for a very specific balance of technical performance and physical comfort. These hit the mark on both fronts. From a technical perspective, the feature suite is impressive. The dual wireless support is a huge win, allowing me to stay connected to my PS5 Pro via the 2.4GHz dongle while simultaneously having my phone linked via Bluetooth. Being able to take a call or listen to a podcast without dropping game audio is the kind of multitasking capability I expect from high end hardware. The battery life has been solid as well, easily getting me through a full weekend of gaming without needing to hunt for a USB C cable. When it comes to the actual gaming experience, the immersion is top tier. The spatial audio provides a legitimate edge in competitive play because you can actually pin point exactly where enemy footsteps or reloads are coming from. It makes the world feel much more alive and directional than a standard stereo setup. Even during four or five hour sessions, the comfort level stays high. The headband design does a great job of distributing the weight so you do not get that "clamp" feeling on your head that a lot of other headsets struggle with. The only minor frustration I have encountered has nothing to do with SteelSeries itself, but rather with the ecosystem. I really wish these could connect directly to my PlayStation Portal. It is annoying that Sony forced PlayStation Link as a strict requirement for wireless audio on that specific handheld, effectively locking out high quality third party headsets like this one. It is a Sony limitation that is a bummer for anyone who already has a great audio setup. Overall, these look great and perform even better. If you are looking for a versatile headset that can handle a multi platform environment and keep you comfortable during a deep dive into a game, these are a solid pickup. They offer a clean design and a reliable connection that just works. ... show more

  • Super comfortable, fantastic headset!
When I decided to get a new headset for my PS5 I did some looking around for quality wireless ones and landed on this pair. No matter how many I've tried through the years I keep having the same comfort problem - until I got these. Gone is the discomfort of hard plastic rubbing the top of my skull. These are absolutely perfect in terms of wear. They are light, the ear cup material is not too hot and this does not rest heavily on your head. I sometimes use blue light blocking glasses as well and these allow you to comfortably wear frames without any friction. The battery life is really good as well and I appreciate that the power light indicator will continue to change color as the battery drains. So if you have a full charge the light is green, over time it will fade to yellow and then to red and beep for you to know the power is almost out. They charge lightning quick though so I have never had an issue with the battery life. One of the most exciting features is the ability to use dual audio. So you can hook these up via bluetooth to your console, but ALSO your mobile phone. So if you want to listen to game audio, but also a video on YouTube, you can have both going in your ears at once. It's really awesome! And also makes these an ideal pair for people that might just want them for their mobile devices. Pairing with devices is positively painless and the microphone can be retracted at any time so as not to obscure your face. My partner has borrowed these before for work calls and has never had any issues with audio quality. To me, the sound is fairly balanced, but does not have any in depth equalizer or app that I am aware of. Volume can be relatively quieter than some headsets even at full blast, but it is still more than sufficient to me - especially if you have the dual audio going. Say you have Spotify open on your phone or tablet app, you can control that apps volume while the headset volume itself is separate. This is a really neat option in my opinion and I do it often when I'm listening to music while gaming. These also have spatial audio support, so if your console allows it you can tune these in your console settings if you like the 3D audio in games. Honestly, you really can't go wrong with these and I highly recommend for their versatility and comfort alone. ... show more

  • Good for PS5 / Excellent for PC
I have used this headset for the past three months and personally love it as it has covered all the requirements I had. The headset is very comfortable and soft, I have never filled any discomfort from wearing it even during 6-8 hours gaming sessions. The battery keeps the charge very long. Playing 1-2 hours per day will last you for weeks. I haven’t done any battery tests myself, but can confirm the claimed time of 38 hours is very close to being a true one. The big advantage here is a USB-C and fast charging. If you end up with a yellow or red battery light, just put it to charge for 15 minutes and you will be good to play for the whole day. I use it mostly with PS5, but sometimes connect to MAC and PC. The sound and mic when connected to PS5 are good, I enjoy playing single player games as well as multiplayer. I hear all the footsteps in Warzone 2, and enjoy the Star Wars blaster/sword sounds in Jedi Survivor. But there is a big difference in sound and mic quality on PS5 and other platforms. Since you can not install SteelSeries app and drivers on PS5 you will here the sound is not as good on PS5 as on PC/MAC. Same goes for the mic: your friends and battle colleagues will notice a significant decrease in mic quality on PS5 compared to PC/MAC. You cannot blame SteelSeries or the headset here, as this is a problem of Sony politics. As soon as you connect the headset to the PC or MAC and install the app and drivers, you get a leap ahead in sound and mic quality. Mic will filter the background sounds and clean your voice, which is not the case for PS5. Sounds will be crisper and deeper. It is worth mentioning that the shape of the usb wifi dongle is blocking the nearby usb port on PS5(see pictures). The headset has a bluetooth mode as well, and you can connect it to your phone and PS5 simultaneously. I tried - works as expected. My overall experience is positive. I recommend buying it for PC/MAC, as well as for PS5. Though you get the most of it when connected to a PC/MAC, you will still enjoy the sound and comfort when connected to a console. ... show more

  • A decent headset for most users
I bought this headset after using wired headset for my PS5. I just wanted to be totally wire free while playing. Over all this headset gets the job done and then some. The multi point connection is nice, but not a feature I can really see myself using as I don't play too much online and need to take phone calls at the same time. Most times I get a call, I pause or exit the game to focus on the call so I don't miss anything in the game or the call. The sound quality is great and overall a very strong showing. I like that it works with the PS5's 3D Audio. You can really hear where the sound is coming from so you know where to look. The mic is pretty good, but not the best I have ever used. The main reason this is only 4 stars is that I just doesn't seem loud enough at times, the cups let it a little to much sound from time to time, and at least with my head, the headband doesn't get tight enough. Those are not reasons to not get this headset just some problems I had. When I really really want to be fully in the game I might for back to the wired headset, but 85 percent of the time I can see myself using this headset and be perfectly fine. ... show more

  • I am truly blown away by how good these feel
I will always prefer wireless speakers, I can move around and not worry about accidentally ripping my cord out. I used to have some Turtle beach headphones that were amazing but the cord used to always be my issue. After many variations of different headphones I decided to try a Steel Series since I have seen them talked about by Linus Tech Tips. Here are my thoughts: 1. Immediately as I took them out I found them very small looking compared to my previous headphones. I normally require pretty large headphones since I have a large head. 2. Upon putting the headphones on I noticed that they were insanely comfortable, the ear cups were just right for my ears, the even turned a bit to actually fit flat on my ears, the cushion was extremely comfortable. The only issue I had was to pull them down a bit was very stiff but once that was done it was great from there. This really shocked me as I am accustomed to larger headphones requiring time to adjust to but these immediately I felt comfortable. 3. Connectivity - There are two types of connections, one using the usb dongle and the other being bluetooth. After trying to parse the manual, I eventually discovered that there are two buttons for power, one for bluetooth and one for the usb dongle. The initial setup with the usb dongle worked smoothly. Bluetooth worked fine the first time and then I ran into an issue trying to pair it to a second device. After some googling I realized that the bluetooth had two modes, one mode just turning it on and another for pairing mode (for pairing you have to hold it down for about 10 seconds). After I figured that out it worked like a charm. 4. Sound Quality - The headphones sound amazing, either that or I just been using crappy headphones for too long. There wasn't too much base and it was clear as can be, there is even a noise cancelling effect when you wear them. 5. Long term connectivity - I did notice that the connectivity dropped once on me but I am not sure if it had something to do with me being out of range a bit or the call I was getting on my phone. I haven't noticed anything since. 6. Price - They are a bit pricey but so far I think they are worth the money and I am looking forward to see how durable they are. Overall, these are great headphones and I enjoy them immensely. ... show more

  • Better sound than expected, imperfect but still respectable sidetone/mic monitoring
UPDATE: the headphones have already started having electrical issues with inconsistent ear amplitude and issues with the mic coming in very quiet until shaken/bent around after less than a year of use. Structurally mint but the mechanical parts seem to not last very long. There are also some firmware issues with the headphones needing restarts with occasional full mic or connection failures. original review: Pros: -good packaging, easy to open up and held headphones in well -smaller than expected but the ears slide up and down along with the band so they fit really well -headband is SUPER comfortable, these are fairly light compared to my 935s and feel good on the head -audio quality is very good, after a bit of EQ work (Easy Effects on a linux machine) they have much better imaging than my old G935s around bass frequencies, tends to benefit off some boosting in upper mids and treble Cons: -Mic is a little stubborn and doesn't bend super easily, metal instead of wire would've been a much better fit -Sidetone works well and the dial on the 7Ps is well appreciated, but they do have a fair bit of noise, so the firmware could've filtered it better. The noise is acceptable as long as you turn the sidetone down a lot (the 935s had amazing sidetone with virtually no noise for reference) -They still do need EQ/DSP changes out of the box, I don't know if I would like these very much fully stock -They do run a little quiet, I have the volume dial up all the way, I'd also rather have them run at max with the knob controlling the system volume, maybe I can fix this in the desktop software they have in a windows VM another day -(edit) the battery life isn't reported via bluetooth or the 2.4ghz receiver, so the only way to check is to take the headphones off and check the light color, which isn't great if you're colorblind, though it's probably easier to just charge them one every 2-3 days overnight and not worry about it at all Note this is a "first impression" review, I'll update this in a few weeks/months if I remember to if there's any issues or gotchas I run into. ... show more

  • Great Product, Everything Just works.
Literally the best headset I've ever worn, and I have gone through quite a few in the last few years. I work from home so I wear my gaming headsets pretty much 16 hours a day, more than 5 days a week. I've purchased and used the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2, Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX and the Logitech G533 Wireless in the last 3 years. All of them broke, bricked, or are no longer able to connect wirelessly to ANYTHING, in less than 1 year of use. But the Steelseries Arctis Nova 7P? HOLY HELL. It sounds awesome, it's comfortable, the mic (though seemingly flimsy) sounds great and is very durable. The materials are sturdy, but light weight. The cups are closed but don't make my ears all sweaty. And the bluetooth multipoint? LITERALLY the best! I connect it once and it *JUST* works. No disconnects (unless due to inactivity), no toggling back and forth, no fiddling with cables... you just turn it on, connect it to both machines and you're done. I use a USB switch for work and I was constantly having to tinker with other headsets whenever I switched between machines. NOT the Steelseries. They're most reliable, consistent, comfortable, quality headset I've ever owned. Only problem is it has no Ambient Surrounding settings. 360 audio doesn't mean in the real world (but it didn't really seem like virtual surround sound while playing games either). I can't ever hear anything going on around me. Which is a plus for some, but I have a dog with pica and I need to listen for the tell tale sounds of his scrounging or choking. Been to the emergency room once already... so I just can't keep using this headset. But man, they'll be missed. ... show more
