The TV that this was purchased for was an older Vizio that is at least 10 years old (model E390i-A1). The old remote just stopped working for some reason. I needed mostly the input function to remotely switch from satellite to Firestick. This arrived, I put in new AAA batteries (2 of them), and it worked right away; no programming or anything else. Great price for a decent remote! Seems as sturdy or even better than the old remote. Recommended. Hope this helps you decide. ... show more

Its a good remote. It looks just like the genuine remote. All functions work great. EXCEPT it does not have the App Switcher function when double pressing the Home screen button, so I cannot close my apps. I have no choice but to return it.

It does not work as described. I have a Generation One Apple plus T.V.+ I ordered it because my previous remote no longer worked. Most people don't buy another remote unless there is a problem with the previous remote or they lose one (I would think). The instructions "say" it can only be learned from a previous remote. It does not work. It will not pair with the Apple device alone. So, I borrowed my Son's remote, and the Apple T.V.+ device is fully functional with his remote, but for some reason, the AP 1868AL will not pair with that remote either. I have paired many remotes successfully (not an end-user problem). It is a poor-quality piece of "plastic." I DO NOT blame Amazon, as this is a third-party seller.
