The bowl is not designed like the original. The accelerator pump doesn't work right because the fuel bleeds back into the bowl rather than go into the engine. The carb looks good and worked ok the first year. Then it started flooding the engine, the fuel would not stop flowing out of the boosters and even the bowl overflow tube. I have had this carb apart many times adjusting the float, replacing parts etc. I just opened it up and noticed little black trash inside the float bowl. The inside of the bowl is painted and is now starting to peel off ending up in the fuel. Now I have a choice, I can take the carb completely apart and sand all of the rest of the paint off or go buy another carb.... That will be a choice you will need to make as well. ... show more

I replaced my TKS Mercarb with this electric choke carb. I was kind of skeptical at first but after installing and a little bit of tuning my boat has/is running like new! Full open throttle and starts on the 1st/2nd turn key! Saved me a ton than rebuilding/replacing my TKS carb.

I have a merc 3 liter, bolted up this carb, filled the float bowl, connected the fuel line and started her up! So far only run on the hose, sounds good, runs good, I only adjusted the choke position and idle screw. I recommend 100% as a cost effective fix. the carb is packaged well, arrived in perfect condition. ... show more
