Updated/New Review Changed from 2 Stars to 5: Well, I've never liked the taste of crow particularly, but here we are. The seller contacted me after posting my review and asked if I would try another board if he had it sent out. Well, I said yes but held out absolutely zero hope it was going to do anything different. Well I was wrong as the new unit works as advertised. Boy was I shocked. After looking at the two units and making some comparisons, I see there are a few differences, the number printed in the silkscreen on the second board I received is 1615, wile the one that did not work was 1815. In looking closer at the logic chip that runs the whole show, I see that one side of the chip has some serious solder flaws despite the QC OK sticker place on it. The seven segment display on the first unit was red, while the second one I received is green. As you can see by the last 4 pictures I posted the display does cycle through the POST codes while booting and appears to do exactly what it was intended to do. Kudos to the seller for sticking behind his product and getting one sent to me that works even though I made no effort whatsoever to get a refund or replacement from him. I tested this adapter in 3 pcs and it didn't work in any of them, all I got was dashes in the LCD display. While the seller does everything he can to help and is very friendly, and I give him 5 stars for his effort, I am reviewing the product not what a great guy he may be. Do yourself a favor and do a search for pci post card. You will find several of them from 5 bucks on up, read the reviews and decide for yourself. The three motherboards I tested it on were an ASUS, MSI and HP. The power supply tester works great, and i didn't have a machine to test the laptop card in, so I can't speak to its performance at all. It also came in a nice zipper bag which was unexpected and very pleasant surprise. I kept the kit as I will get use out of the power supply tester and the wrist strap, and for the little coin spent it isn't worth the trip to the post office to return it. ... show more

I had ordered this POST tester to help diagnose a failed vintage motherboard from the late 90's. No POST beep just fans spin up and nothing more. The tester showed no POST activity on both the ISA and PCI buss indicating further issues to look into. After purchasing the seller contacted me providing links to download the instruction and reference guides. The seller also offered help with using this tester and determining further fault causes. Very nice individual to talk to. One last important point to remember: ISA cards face upward and PCI cards face downwards. This tester has two sets of pins, one for each socket type. The PCI is keyed to only fit one way, however the ISA side of the card can be inserted upside down, potentially damaging the tester. Just be sure to pay attention which direction the ISA side is plugged into. ... show more

    • Made for Legacy Machines miniPCIe not supported
The description is misleading. It clearly states at the top it does not support PCIe but at the bottom of the sales page it lists, "miniPCIe 2-in-1 diagnostic adapter card." I tried this in a miniPCIe slot and it showed nothing. This needs to be updated. The paper included with the kit is lovely but not written in proper English sentences. The beep code speaker would not work either. I think this is because the two pin speaker cable will not work on modern speaker connectors. The instructions included are not for the units themselves specifically. The external links provided on the web page are not descriptive either. This would make a good kit if the instructions were clearly written in a small user guide. I'm sure this would work on legacy machines but it is definitely not made to work with my mobo that was made in 2017. ... show more

I don't mean to slam the product and certainly the seller tries hard with customer service, but do check your system. As the seller clearly states, this is for systems with PCI slots only. This is a very old kind of slot that very few computers use any more. Unless you have an older system, you probably just have PCIe slots... like me. I should have paid better attention before ordering because I do know better. I just didn't think anyone sold PCI connections any more and it was odd that Amazon put it first on the list when I searched for a "PCIe Motherboard Test Kit". For folks who don't know better, a picture of the slots in the description would probably be helpful. Regardless, check your motherboard and be sure before ordering. After quickly receiving the kit only two days after ordering it, I slotted it into my Motherboard and ran into a few issues because its was my first time doing diagnostics on a motherboard. I reached out to support and received a response within a couple of hours. I explained my problem and after a couple of quick emails back and forth I have been able to diagnose my issue. This is a well thoughout and nicely built kit that is perfect for anyone that needs to do some simple troubleshooting. Whats even better is the level of support I recieved. People always say the level of support received is equavalent to how much money you spend. I say nay nay! I can now say that this is the best support over any product I have bought.
