Direct drop in replacement as advertised, btw this is my 3rd DB Electrical purchase. Replaced my Starter and Alt on a 2006 Nissan Frontier and they have worked great for over 2+yrs. So when my Dad's alt started acting up on his 2010 Chevy(52k miles) I recommended the DB Electrical product for replacement. His stock alt would randomly act up, symptoms would be the voltage gauge would drop to 9v on the dash when driving, key off/on restart and it would stay at 14.2 ish, several times when the voltage would drop there would be an audible beep. The product looked great, out of the box it was packed well, looked very nice. Install was very easy. There were no issues initially... until a couple weeks later. This car isn’t driven every day so the issue may have been discovered sooner. Driving to work one day notice the charging was at 11.8 volts, while driving on the highway! Got to work ok, went to start it up for lunch.. no go. My alternator wasn’t charging anymore. Replaced it with a unit from a local supplier and now I have no issues. Worst part is, I can’t even return it. Amazon gave one day to return the run it and I missed the window. My fault? Yah technically, but I still think one day isn’t enough time, a week wouldn’t been great. With busy day to day operations it can be tough to take care of these things. I wished it worked out, it was very promising for the price. :( ... show more

I am retired from the auto/truck parts business after 30+ years. I have sold thousands of alternators under many labels both remanufactured and new. This is a very nice unit. Often on a GM truck you must press spacer bushings out of the way on the mount to install a new alternator from an aftermarket brand. This dropped right in no problem. The attention to detail was excellent and the clocking of the electrical connections were spot on. As long as I get reasonable service life from it I'm 5 stars. ... show more

I bought this as new used. When I got it the package was a bit worse for the wear. It did have a slightly bent hot wire terminal bolt but nothing major. I installed it and it worked flawlessly. No complaints.

    • Go with something else and save yourself from buying twice.
Just avoid this and go with something more reputable. Installed simple enough but only lasted a year and a half. Of course it went out when it was cold and with 4 inches of snow.
