I am in LOVE! I had the brilliant idea to personalize 18 blankets and beach towels as Christmas gifts this year. Previously I only had 2 colors of embroidery thread (Red and Green) because it's REALLY expensive at my local craft store. I made everyone stockings one year & really hated the idea of only being able to afford maybe 2 more colors... Including pics of the color chart to show how easy to pick the color you want. How it made it stupid proof & I really need that at this point lol. And can now do way more. I also needed more stabilizer and WOW! in the starter kit was SOOO much better than what I got at the craft store and easier to use instead of a 3' wide I had to keep folding back up which just made a mess. It's thicker and sturdier too which I think made my letters WAY crisper. If I can find a picture of the stockings, I will add it and there is a Very noticable difference in the clean lines. Even the back of it looked good & that is different for me in a good way. I am no where near a pro, and had to watch the DVD on my embroidery machine again because I wasn't that impressed last year with how things came out and hadn't touched my machine since...now I am excited!

This is an ideal starter set for anyone looking to take a stab at machine embroidery. The variety of colors among the 63 provides a nice range from the basic to the vibrant. I -really- appreciate the labels on the top of the spools with pre-cut holes... many labels are solid and either have to be pierced or removed and relocated. The thread itself didn't fray or break during use and the included optional nets kept the tension nice and consistent. My set came with 10 nets which fit the supplied spools perfectly and still fit a wider spool I already had. The stabilizer works fine, providing a little support for thinner materials and tore clean from the finished project. At 10 inches, it's a little wider than most of the pre-cut sheets which would probably be nice for those with wider hoops. The box itself is sturdy enough to be used to store everything and shouldn't fall apart too easily. The included color chart is nice, though I lack any 'compatible' brands listed so any color matching still has to be eyeballed. Overall, it's a nice little set and the box makes for convenient storage.
