Bought one, scraped it in, and was so happy with it, I bought another one to scrape in as a matched pair. I don't think I'll find a matched pair of milling vises for under $100.00 anywhere on earth. Having said that, it's a good starting place for someone who knows enough to make it righteous.

Vise jaws are lifted from the vise 'ways' about 2mm on just one side. They did this to get the jaws somewhat square to each other. The jaws are also showing deviations in the center even when zeroed end to end w/ a dial test indicator (~.001" concave) . Deep and plentiful scratches on the bottom. Most of that I wasn't too concerned about but the vise jaws being lifted so far off is just not acceptable. I have several similar vises of various sizes and none are perfect but they serve their purpose at my skill level. This one was a bit of a bummer. I will contact the seller and update my review accordingly. Unfortunately, I threw out the box in my zeal and honestly I just want to get my cnc cutting something already

held a few tenths everywhere on the surface plate after a couple well placed taps on the vise jaws.. but this thing definitely does what they say it does. holds a thou all day if you tap the work juuust right. spent a decent part of my day cutting 6" parallels in half.. I pushed it pretty hard.. 0.375" DOC, 0.125" stepover, 3 thou chip load.. she stayed true.. the cut sounded great and the surface finish was fantastic. like all the other reviews say, deburr the jaws.. save yourself the trouble of running for a bandaid because that stubborn chip wouldn't blow off.. no biggie.. this is the best vise $50 can buy hands down..

I use this in my home workshop on a hobby mill. I didnt want to spend hundres on a vise. This performs very well. Seems well made. Tight tolerances and no wiggle. Cant beat it for the price.

The frame is made from cheap, poor quality cast iron. If you over tighten the vise, the frame breaks easily.
