Nice option for easy setup and deployment!
Connectivity Technology: USB Cable
Nice option for desktop use if you need to scan barcodes for quick entry. Instructions were pretty clear for setup, and the scanner is reads quickly. Was pretty much plug and play for my use-case!

Up and running for inventory management with some tinkering
Connectivity Technology: USB Cable
I am using this for inventory management at home. So, my review will be from that perspective. It took a bit of fidgeting to figure out. Originally I plugged it into my computer but scanning would not work. I'm not sure if I misplaced the instructions with the codes to scan to reset it, but I wound up having to come to the amazon page to print the reset barcodes off. Once I could scan the "reset" barcode, then it worked as expected. It's very slick to be able to scan a barcode on a product and have it be updated in my inventory management system. The item feels quite durable. Though as it does not come with any kind of mount I will need to figure out some way to hold it up. For now I have been maneuvering it by hand to scan. My experience with barcode scanners is limited but so far I have been pleased with this one. It is a "recommend" from me. ... show more

Nice scanning module - fast with a small footprint
Connectivity Technology: USB Cable
The scanning module works exactly as expected. It’s fast, and the bright light makes it easy to capture barcodes reliably. I’ve been using it to build a catalog of my products, and it’s worked great for that. It would also be a solid addition to an assembly line for automated inventory barcode scanning. I like that it has an auto-off feature—the light turns off when it’s not in use and only comes back on when it detects movement. The form factor is another plus: it’s a small, simple rectangle, so it would be easy to design and 3D-print a custom mount for it and it runs on 5V. There are also two very tiny screw mounts on the back ... show more

Incredible Value for Custom Integration Projects
Connectivity Technology: USB Cable
Incredible Value for Custom Integration Projects Overall Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) I acquired this NetumScan 2D embedded scanner for a custom inventory management project, and it has proven to be an absolutely incredible value. It's a well-built, highly capable scanner that is exceptionally easy to integrate, both physically and with custom software. Integration and Setup: Physical integration was straightforward. The scanner module is compact and features standard M3 mounting holes, making it easy to design a bracket and mount it securely within our inventory kiosk. On the software side, it was recognized immediately on both macOS and Linux systems as a standard USB HID device (keyboard). More importantly for my use case, I was able to easily write a small utility to exclusively capture the input from the scanner, preventing its output from interfering with other applications. This level of easy integration is a huge plus for any custom project. Performance: The scanner works flawlessly. It reads both 1D and 2D (QR) codes instantly, whether from a printed label or directly off a screen. The automatic induction scanning is responsive, and the aimer makes it easy to target codes quickly. In the context of our inventory system, it has performed without a single issue, accurately capturing every scan. Conclusion: This scanner is a solid 5-star product. For hobbyists, developers, or businesses creating custom kiosks, inventory systems, or other automated solutions, it offers professional-grade performance and dead-simple integration at a fantastic price point. It’s an easy recommendation. ... show more

Handy little scanner
Connectivity Technology: USB Cable
This little guy is a dynamo! The only gripe I have is a tiny one too. First off, it feels sturdy, like it can be dropped or banged without taking damage most times. The lense is crystal clear, and the laser hits every code very well. My experience is a 3ft or so max range on a barcode as big as a quarter. I've had no connectivity issues either, and just as it says, it scans various barcodes with no trouble. Making it versatile to use. Since it's usb powered and connected, you do need it hooked up to a computer, no battery. I have it for a home inventory system since I go through crafting supplies all the time, and helps me keep track and organized. The different modes are nice, but I like manual scanning either way. My one gripe is that ad convenient as the external trigger wire can be. It's unsightly when not needed. They should have made it an attachment, or even just tethered it to a little remote. For the price and how well it functions, I'd say it's good! ... show more

Quick Reads and Great for Inventory Systems
Connectivity Technology: USB Cable
We’ve been using this module as part of our inventory management setup, and it’s been a big help. Instead of worrying about plugging in and managing an external scanner, this integrates directly and just works. It reads both 1D and 2D barcodes quickly, even when the label isn’t perfectly clean or lined up. Setup was simple — it was recognized right away as a pnp scanner without needing extra steps — and once it’s in place, it runs without issue. The scan speed is fast enough that it doesn’t slow down workflow, and accuracy has been very consistent. The compact size makes it easy to fit into a kiosk or workstation without clutter, and the build feels solid for continuous use. For anyone building or upgrading an inventory system, this has been a reliable, hassle-free solution. ... show more

Overpriced but USB-Powered
Connectivity Technology: USB Cable
I got the NetumScan 2D Embedded Barcode Scanner for $50, and honestly, that’s way too much. The good part is it can be powered via USB, which is convenient. The downside is I couldn’t figure out how to change the scan style, which limits its functionality. Feels overpriced for what it does. Pros: USB-powered, easy to set up Can scan 1D and 2D barcodes Cons: Expensive for the features Scan style configuration is difficult ... show more

Simple setup and good button, but unreliable sensor
Connectivity Technology: USB Cable
This works great as a simple plug and play scanner, and the button for manual activation is reliable and has nice tactile feedback. However, it does seem to struggle reading many codes even in bright lighting and regardless of angle; the sensor seems to be of mediocre quality.
