This Netgear Nighthawk CM2000 cable internet modem is pure awesome. I quickly noticed a increase in both my speed and performance while using this unit. It's so very many light years above the Arris Surfboard S33 that I last had that it will never be funny again. The best perfect match for this unit that I have come across as you all see in photo is the Nighthawk BE19000 router, future proofing my purchase with Wifi 7. I am paying for internet speed of 1gbps, with that said, looking at the photo again you can see that I am getting every bit of my money worth and then some. Another thing that I like about the CM2000 is that it doesn't get hot like my Surfboard S33 was until it played out. The two Nighthawks look so beautiful together. With this setup came another change, that change was my eithernet cables, going from using the round ones to the flat. Awesome outcome. Like the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. I pulled out and these two devices with the flat cables put out. Giving me every single drop that I am paying for and you can not get better than that. And this is also why I never ever except gear from those I am buying my service from. You'll never get all that you are paying for, and one other thing, I never ever buy a modem that doubles as a router to.... this is never the way to go. For the best performance, these things were made to join forces and become that mighty force. And that's exactly what I have here now. The best part is yet to come and that's when Wifi 7 is in place, I'll already be ready for it with the BE19000 and the CM2000 having it's back. For those that's down playing these products, it's strictly because of something that "YOU" have going on, not because of these products. My first two routers were Netgear, so it's more than safe to say that I have only come back home. They are handling every single thing I am throwing at them. I recall the days when the play store would load when I open it, with these devices paired together, opening the play store now a days it's like it never went anywhere or was never closed. Now I don't see the word "Downloading", I see installing. If anything happens to this setup, I'm going to first cry and then re-buy.

Great modem that was very easy to setup. Do be aware that this modem does take a while to cycle when you first power it up. It took about 15 minutes for my to properly setup. I have gig speed internet through Xfinity and needed a modem that would allow me to access my full speeds. With my previous CM1000 I was only getting about 250mbps. With my computer hooked directly to this modem I am seeing speeds 1400mbps which is well above what I actually pay for. Though I wont be running directly off the modem and instead using the Netgear Nighthawk RAXE500 wireless router, the direct connection just gives an idea of the improvement with this router.

Holy Cr.... Well I've had multiple CM1200s, tried a surfboard, and one other random brand. Best I've got to date was around 800Mb/s on a 1k Mb line. With the 1200's. This thing throttled at 1131 on it's first test and it's repeating. Spectrum internet in Chattanooga, TN. The senior tech showed me noise in the lines in my area, forcing higher frequency negotiation on the part of the modem. So I rarely get more than 2 years per unit. If this lasts that long - I'll call it money well spent.

Purchased this during Black Friday 2025 and it stopped working entirely on January 21st, 2026, less than 2 months later (only the bottom 2 lights would display when plugged in, not even the power LED, and absolutely no internet pass-through). Tested internet with a backup modem/router and combo which worked fine, so it was definitely the modem. Jumped on the phone with NETGEAR support after exhausting all usual troubleshooting procedures and, after trying to do a "shock reset" (to no avail), they determined it was a hardware issue and issued a case number. They "graciously" offered to send me a label to send it in, let their technicians investigate, which upon verifying the NETGEAR team would send a new modem (2-3 weeks at minimum). But hold on, they mentioned there are two more options! If you don't want to wait, they'll send you a replacement FIRST and you can send yours back in the box for only $17! Or, if it's very urgent to have internet, they'll do the same thing but with express shipping for triple the cost! It was truly a unique customer service experience, whereby they were so unembarrassed & disconnected from the fact their $300 product was a total failure that they honestly think trying to pressure you in to paying anything to simply rectify their own shortcomings. It wasn't until I pointed out that the holiday return window was still open that they became less confident about pressuring me into their scam. That being said, I'd recommend just going with the CODA56 or S33 (also a 3.1 next gen) and urge anyone reading to skip this sleek-looking heap of garbage. The company won't care when it breaks and should be investigated for fraud considering my experience (conveniently dies right after warranty/return window expires) matches so many others in these reviews. Installed easily, working like it should. This has replaced an old Arris S33, and it has been as good as I had hoped for based on online reviews. Pricey, yes, but will pay for itself in less than 18 months based on my ISP's rental charges for their inferior modem.

I have 1 gig service but am falling short of that speed by about 200-300 depending on what time of day it is. It may not be this cable modem. It could be Cox service, the router, or cables, but the router is new and is very high end (Asus Rog Strix GE-BS18000) I have a feeling it is the actual cable supplied by Cox because it is going through a splitter. I upgraded, well actually a bit of overkill, with cat 8 cables which improved the speed a slight bit. Overall it is a good cable modem.

Setting this up on Xfinity was so easy. I plugged it in and scanned the QR code under the modem. The app did the rest. After a few minutes it said it was ready. Make sure you put your phone on cellular data when doing this. My modem speeds are just as fast as the Xfinity rental. I'm paying for 2gig and getting it. The upload is just as fast, as well. It is just as good as the rental. Now I'm not paying for a modem fee any more. That cut 25% off our bill. If you plan on using Xfinity for a long time, buying a modem saves you a lot of money.

I own an Arris TG862G modem for many years now. At the time, this was the approved model for VIOP phone lines. At $200 it has paid for itself many times over. Due to retirement living on a fix income, cost cuts were needed so I dropped the Triple Play and now subscribed to internet (Blast - 800Mbps). Recently I keep getting email from Xfinity says my modem (DOCSIS 3.0) is outdated and keeping me from getting my maximum download speeds promised by my plan. After so many of these notices, I decided to take the plunge and get a new DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem. I decided on the Netgear model CM3000-1AZNAS. Installation was easy. I already had downloaded the Xfinity App on my phone. It has a place to activate new equipment and recommended because you lose your internet. The switch over took about 10-15 minutes. I had internet in no time. The problem lay in that Speed Tests didn't reveal any, and I mean any gain in speed. So not wanting to admit I just spent $300 for nothing, I contact them with chat. I explained that I just installed a new modem and no change. Perhaps my modem (account) needs provisioned to accommodate the new modem. He tells me he can get me a higher speed package for less than I paying. So from 800 to 1100, when I wasn't even getting the 800. But less money is better so I agreed, thinking this would surely provision my account to the 1100Mbsp. Well after a day, still no change. I don't think it is this modem's fault, but Comcast's fault. I will try CS one more time. The moral of the story, "If it ain't broke, Don't try to fix it!"
